Chapter 4

I woke up in our cave the next day. I must've fainted after using so much energy to drive Noseres away, so I get out of bed and stumble out looking for Nurekai.

"Nurekai! Nurekai where are you?" I ask into the empty air.

I didn't hear a reply from Nurekai, but I did get a reply from someone.

"You feeling alright?"

I got a chill down my spine and hesitated to turn around. I did though, and I was right about who I thought it was.

"Matt?" I asked

"Hey bud, you doing alright?" He asked with half a smile.

"Yeah I'm doing fine, but I feel an extreme amount of pain coursing through my body. How is it that your here?"

"Let's not worry about that right now," Matt said, "take this"

He came down from the top of the cave and handed me a small box. It was wrapped in dark green wrapping paper that reflected off the light.

"What's this for?" I asked, turning it between my two hands.

"It's your birthday isn't it?" He grinned.

"Oh yeah. I can't believe a year ago I was at the farm and now I'm here," I said

"Well I have go, I'll see you soon alright?" he said

"You're leaving again? Dad, you left me for my whole life and now that I finally get the chance to see you, you're leaving again?" I asked.

"I'm sorry," he said. I ran towards him, but as he walked he was being blown away into energy. He walked away into the distance, further and further until he was gone. I woke up in the cave once more. I knew seeing my father was too good to be true. I got up and looked for Nurekai outside. I instantly saw him lying on the ground sleeping the day away. I take a towel from the corner and walk up to a waterfall nearby and washed my blood off of myself.

"You're up?" Nurekai asked

"Whoa! Can't I have a little privacy when I'm taking a shower in a waterfall?" I asked

"You're self-conscious huh? You're going to grow out of that soon I promise, I don't care if you're naked," Nurekai replied

"I'm still not coming out," I sigh while rolling my eyes. "Anyways, I just woke up. I'm just washing off the blood off of myself," I said

"It doesn't hurt?" Nurekai asked

"No, why is it supposed to?"

"I just usually don't meet people who can wash their own injuries without being in pain. You must be one of those high tolerance for pain kind of people."

"Yeah, I don't really feel any pain. Are you doing alright after the battle with Noseres?"

"I'm fine, just a little beat that's all, but I didn't feel much compared to your experience though"

"I'm fine I swear, but I want to find out why Noseres wanted me and who he needed to bring me to," I said

I dried myself off , put on my clothes, and went back to the entrance of our cave. As we walked there, Nurekai and I both talked on the walk back.

"Um, this might not be the best time to tell you this but"

"What?" I interrupted

"When Noseres attacked me I smelled something. It wasn't his natural scent, I smelled something else too. Not only that but when I flew up to see what was attacking the mountains, I scanned it's energy, and when we got closer after the sudden shriek of pain, his energy was being infected by another"
