Flashback

"I don't wanna go in there, Marcus!" An 8-year-old me cried clinging to my 12-year-old brother. We had just moved because my dad got a new job. My mom had Marcus walk me to school since he's the only one who could convince me to go inside. Marcus kneeled to look at me.

"Listen El, I know you can do this. You're gonna make new friends and you'll have fun. Trust me." He smiled at me. "Fine, I'll go," I muttered. Marcus grabbed my hand and dropped me off in the class.

I wearily looked around at my new surroundings. This wasn't gonna be fun.

Surprisingly I behaved during class and the teacher was nice. 'Maybe school isn't that bad.' I thought while sitting on a swing at recess.

"Ow!" I cried when I was shoved off the swing. I looked up at the boy who had pushed me. "Why did you do that?" I asked with tears streaming down my cheeks.

"I wanted it, so I took it." The little jerk said while sitting on the swing. "Don't be mean to her." Said a blonde hair boy behind me. "Well, I don't like her so I'll do what I want!" The kid screamed.

The blonde-haired boy began to look very angry. He stepped towards the kid who pushed me kicked him hard in the shin. The kid began to cry and went off to most likely tell the teacher what had happened.

"Are you ok?" The blonde-haired boy asked.

"Yeah, I'm ok. Thank you for sticking up for me." I replied as he helped me up.

"I'm happy to help." He said and smiled at me.

"What's your name?" I asked.

"My name is Jonah Finn Evans." The boy replied smiling.

"Can I call you Finn?" I asked.

He thought about it for a moment then answered. "No one has ever called me Finn but, I'd really like you to."

"Ok." I smiled. "What's your name?" Finn questioned. "I'm Isabella but I like to be called El."

"I like that name." He said grinning. I grinned back until we realized there was an angry teacher headed in our direction.

I looked over at Finn sitting next to me on the couch with his mesmerizing eyes fixed on the TV. I smiled thinking again about when we met. Finn noticed me looking at him.

"What?" He asked with a smile.

"Do you remember when we met?"

"Yes. That teacher did not react well to me kicking Brian Levi. I swear she had smoke coming out of her ears!" He laughed. I burst out giggling and so did he. Once we had calmed down I snuggled into his side and he put his arm around me.

"Love you El." He said.

"I love you too Finn," I replied. If only he knew how I really loved him.

Hey guys I hope you're enjoying the flashbacks. Sorry if the Marcus stuff is making you sad. I know not many people are reading my book but I'm still very happy with how many have. Thank you for reading.

Lots of love, May❤️
