"El." The voice said trying to wake me.

"El!" The voice yelled again.

I reluctantly opened my eyes to see my 14-year-old sister Tyler looking down at me. I grabbed the soft pillow and put it over my head. She grabbed it and hit me with it.

"Ow," I whined and frowned at her.

"El you need to get up now or I'm bringing cold water." She said sternly.

"Fine" I grumbled. She smiled and left my room with a small skip in her step.

Half awake I slowly sat up and unhappily got out of my warm bed. Walking up to my mirror I saw the tired mess that I was. My light brown hair was falling out of my bun so I took it down. I shook it out and it fell to its usual length. Grabbing my phone I headed towards the bathroom my sister and I share. I shut the door and turned on the shower. As I waited for it to warm up I texted my best friend Finn.

'You're driving me again today right?'

As usual, he responded quickly.

'Yeah of course.'

'Thanks, Finn you're the best.'

'I know' he replied with a smirking emoji.

Before I could reply he texted me to hurry and get ready because he was coming in half an hour. I quickly jumped in the shower but, I didn't actually jump in because with how clumsy I am I'd probably crack my head open. After I finished in the shower I dried off and put my hair in a towel. I went back to my room and into my closet. I decided on a pair of black ripped jeans, Vans, and a green, yellow and white shirt. I brought out my makeup case and applied light eyeshadow, mascara, blush, and very light pink lipstick.

"Honk! Honk!" I heard his loud car horn outside. I grabbed my backpack and a plain black hoodie. Rushing downstairs and into the kitchen, I saw Tyler making her lunch. She glanced up at me then did a double-take. As watched her try to hold back a laugh and failing.

"What are you laughing about?"

"Oh, nothing. I just thought about something my friend Jess said."

"Ok then," I said with an eyebrow raised. "Oh, Ty do you wanna ride with us today?"

"I'll have to take a rain check. Jess and her mom are driving us today."

I nodded my head. Looking around the house I sighed.

Noticing my attitude She asked, "Do you think they'll be home tomorrow?"

I scoffed "They don't really give a crap anymore so I doubt it."

She nodded but stayed silent.

"I gotta go, Ty, Finn's waiting for me"

"Ok, I'll see you later. love you!" She called out as I walked towards the door.

"Love you too!" I called back before shutting the door.

I walked over to the passenger door of Finn's beat-up Saturn. His brother gave it to him before he left for college since he was going to get a new car in New York.

"Finally, I thought you died in there." He said without looking up at me. He finally looked at me and spoke. "Um El, aren't you forgetting something?" he asked with an amused face. Puzzled I looked at him.

"Oh yeah," I exclaimed and hugged him. "I like those but, I was talking about that." He said while pointing at my head. I suddenly realized that I still had the towel on my head. I quickly took it off and threw it in the backseat. "So that's what Tyler was laughing about," I muttered. He chuckled and said, "You better take that out later."
"I will don't worry," I said smirking.
