"What were you two doing?"
I look at Simon who look worried, I don't know if he's going to say something or not. "We wer-" I get cut off, "nothing, we were just talking," Simon smiles at Jide before glancing over at me, he lied.
My heart sinks into my stomach, I feel sick all of a sudden, why would he lie he told me Jide would be fine with it. Jide looks at me clearly wanting me to say something, "Yeah we were just talking," I fake a smile, I just want to cry right now but it will give everything away if I do. Jide smiles and puts his arm around my shoulders, "good because I'd kill you Simon," Jide winks before pulling me away from everyone to the dance floor.
Jide dances while I stand and sway awkwardly, still wanting to cry. "Dance!" He grabs my hands and lifts them up into the air, jiggling my arms.
"You're just flapping my arm fat about," I mumble and he stops, obviously noticing my attitude but he doesn't say anything, he just grabs my hand and takes me to the kitchen.
"What are you doing?" I watch him as he walks across the kitchen and goes into a cupboard, pulling out the biggest bottle of vodka I think I've ever seen. "No way," I feel a smile creep onto my face, just what I need.
"Remember when we were younger and we used to take shots of Pepsi, then acting drunk?" Jide is smiling from ear to ear, the excitement literally flowing out of him.
"I do, it was fun," I know where he's going with this, it probably isn't a good idea though. "Let's do it but this time with real alcohol and we will actually be drunk," I can't help but laugh at this, we done this when we were kids thinking it was cool and here we are almost 15 years later and we're doing it for real.
"Fuck it," we both laugh and he grabs the shot glasses, handing me the bottle. "Let me," he tries to grab the bottle off me but I move it out of his reach, a frown appears on his lips, "I worked in a night club for a while, let me," I smile, he holds his hands up and takes a step back giving me room to pour them.
It's as if I do this every day, I pour the line of shots perfectly, maybe spilling a little but Jide was too excited to notice. We both start knocking shots back and honestly it burns so much but I am so confused just now with Simon so anything to help ease my mind.
-
We fucked it, we honestly rightfully fucked it. After we took the shots it took a solid ten minutes for everything to hit us, and it hit us hard. I'm currently lying on the kitchen island and Jide is running around singing.
"Oh my goood Jide," I hold my phone to him, there's a photo of us when we are about 9, me with the bob cut and Jide with the massive gap in his teeth.
"Good old days," he laughs, putting my phone down he grabs my ankles and drags me off the island to the floor, I thud against the floor, it goes silent.
"Motherfucker," I mumble and we both burst out laughing, neither of us can see straight but honestly I wouldn't want anything else right now. The party outside of the kitchen is still bustling away, I almost forgot about it, I turn to look at Jide, "we sh-should join the party," I hiccup causing us both to laugh. He stands up and pulls me with him, "let's go," and we head out the kitchen to all the slightly 'less drunk than us' people.
Jide and I head straight for the dance floor, which is Harry's living room and we find Ethan, Freezy and Harry dancing away so we join. I throw my arms up in the air, swaying with the music, at this point in my night I literally couldn't give less of a crap. I glance around the room and I catch Simon's stare from across the room.
"How much have you guys had to drink?" Harry looks at Jide and I, clearly aware that we are out of it, "a lot," I smile and grab his hand, pulling him closer to me and making him dance with me, he obliged and we dance. Jide, Ethan And Freezy are acting as if they're in a club while Harry and I dance together, I move closer to Harry.
"I want another drink do you want one?" Harry smiles and nods, I smile and walk towards the kitchen. Of course the kitchen is empty, at most party's I've been to the kitchen has been the life of the party but clearly not this one.
I begin to pour two drinks when the kitchen door opens, a tall angry looking blonde walks in and he paces towards me. "What's wrong with you," I slur, he takes the bottle out of my hand and places it onto the counter, the noise of the glass hitting the marble makes me wince.
"You've had enough. We're going home," he takes my hand and tries to walk out of the kitchen, "I'm not leaving with you," I pull my hand out of his grasp, standing my ground but he turns to me a complete blank expression on his face.
"Amelia we're going home. Vikk and Josh will get Jide home later." He holds his hand out giving me the option this time, I can't help but give in to him and I place my hand in his, a small smile on his lips as I do. We go around and say goodbye to everyone before leaving and getting into a taxi.
We sit in silence, I want to bring up the fact that he lied but I am honestly too drunk for that right now. My head is spinning and all I want to do is dance, I can't believe he's taking me home I was having such a good time.
"Hey you okay?" I turn to look at Simon, a worried look written on his face, "yup," I smile slightly before turning away and looking out the window again, watching the busy streets of London party on while I'm getting made to go home. For the rest of the journey we yet again sit in silence, this time it's not comfortable silence instead it's tense, I just want to go to my bed.
