I will not be another flower, picked for my beauty and left to die. I will be wild, difficult to find and impossible to forget. -Erin Van Vuren.
Spencer's POV
To say that I was anxious would be an understatement. Three weeks had passed with no word from Venus. I had messed up but cases needed to be seen to and so did my life. I slowly stopped thinking about that overly awkward time a lot but it wandered in my mind on occasion. That was until the doors opened and she entered. I knew I had messed up as she avoided all eye contact and headed straight for Gideon. Probably to tell him everything that had happened. It was bound to happen. "What did you do to her? She didn't even try to flirt with me just now and she blanked you." Morgan slunk an arm around me and pointed to the room she had just entered.
My hand scratched my neck as I began; "I called her Maeve." Derek still didn't seem to understand but he backed away as he was called of to talk about his case with an on duty officer. Her body slowly faded as the blinds were closed and she was seen to be sitting down.
Venus's POV
My body ached. The whole room seemed to be too much but as I entered the hall an overly cocky Morgan twisted an arm over my shoulder. "And where have you been?" His voice was joking and actions a little suggestive but that was Derek. "Out. Now, I have places to be." His arm left my shoulders as we entered the room. I noticed Spencer but instead walked up to see the man of the hour. Gideon.
My knuckles hit the wood and he sent a soft offer of entry that I quickly took. Just to leave the prying eyes of my colleagues. His office hadn't changed and I saw no reason why it would and yet it felt odd that it was the same. Like I had left years before not two weeks. "Here." I almost slammed the letter on his desk as he stood and walked to the blinds. I took that to mean that he wanted a chat and so began to sit down.
When he finally sat down he clasped his hands together on the desk. "What is this?" I moved my hand to it and spoke clearly. "My letter of resignation. I shall complete the full term but in a month, you will need to have a replacement." He picked up the paper and read through it. "Why?" Was the only thing he said as he scoured the paper. "I think it is the best thing for me to do at the moment." I held my head high but I wanted to bow out and leave. No more said. No month in advance either. "A very selfish motive. Is it not?" I nodded and found my hands playing with the hem of my skirt. The one I wore two weeks before. "Is there anything else?" I nodded. "I am not fit for work. I will need to leave anyway."
Rossi's POV
The whole office seemed to buzz around but the team found themselves most anxiously watching the main office. Where Gideon and Venus sat. I was sat on Emily's desk when the door suddenly opened. Venus seemed to be anxious but she left the office at a casual rate. Her gun and badge were removed from her belt and she placed them on her desk. It was like she was going to leave but instead she turned and walked to Garcia's office. It seemed to be quite an odd thing to do but whatever she fancied. "What is happening?" I ask bewildered. "She needs to chat to Garcia." His answer was cut and dry. To our annoyance and disappointment.
It didn't take long though as she emerged from the computer room with a faint smile on her face though her mind seemed to be a mile away. Her face was blank aside from that one small smile. She seemed to be in a genuine trance until she blinked repeatedly and then turned to us all. "This is Special Agent Waters?" Morgan asked as her body language seemed to change. "Has she got multiple personalities?" Her hips swung and her eyes became covered with thickly rimmed glasses. "What is with the look?" She took my comment well as she gave an offhand comment about contact lenses and she found her hips hurting all the time. The gait seemed to help with the constant pain.
