Discipline is choosing between what you want now and what you want most. -Abraham Lincoln
Venus' POV
The case seemed to be dragging on and as the days had passed a little less of me held a belief in the fact that those girls would be found alive. "They will still be alive. There are two medics remember. They can help with injuries and keeping calm." I nodded and held the hot mug against my chest. "You don't normally drink coffee." Observations weren't really wanted but it was too late. JJ had done it. "I need it." I mumbled whilst I watched the man sit smugly at the metal table with handcuffs on. "What about his house?" JJ moved her head side to side as she gave it some thought. "I will ask Gideon if the two of us can go." I nodded and got ready to leave. A slight jog took to JJ as she approached me. "Gear up." I was already fully decorated by the time she had said this so I grabbed a set of keys and walked out to the car.
The house was a quaint and secluded one at the edge of some fields. "Ideal for hiding the girls." JJ agreed and we pulled up properly. The house looked like a cardboard one as the paint peeled and the house was old and most likely rotten. The girls would all be ill just because of the mould. The outside had developed black mould around the window we could see and around the door. The roof seemed like it could fall in at any point and much to my displeasure it stank of feces and urine. "He needs to drink more." I blandly commented as we approached the door. The hinges had rusted open will a small crack in the door it stood ajar. "Hello." I shouted as we entered. Before we could get any further into the building a loud bang sounded and a small explosion occured. Clearly the door had a trap attached. "Are you okay?" JJ just nodded and pointed forward. My hand was placed firmly on my thigh as I felt a warmth. I was hit but it couldn't have been bad for me so I pushed on.
The floor creaked and echoed as we walked into all of the rooms. The ceiling was deeply sagging in all of the rooms and the place was a mess. The door was bothering me and so all rugs were pulled up. "Here." I calmly spoke as the final rug was lifted and a small hatch was seen. "One...two...three." as we both spoke the word we lifted the hatch and slightly drowsy women all looked up at us. A few seemed scared. "We are with the FBI. We are here to help." Smiles and tears ran at us as we climbed down and began to see all of the women. None were dead yet but all seemed close. "Gideon. They are here." The ambulance was heard arriving and my phone was hung up. One by one we led the women up the small ladder. Rust had also claimed the metal so we were careful. As the last three women began to leave I felt a sting run through me. I fell to my knees and held my thigh. "What is is Venus?" Clearly JJ had not heard me but that was probably because she stood at the top of the ladder and I was at the bottom. The women had all left and the Ambulances were all working on getting them safe. "I got hit by whatever that bang was. Thought nothing of it at the time but it hurts." I brought a breath in between my teeth. The team were arriving as doors were loudly closing and steps heard.
They all seemed to look down at once and I felt my leg sting. "Can you guys smell some gone off Almonds?" Spencer innocently asked and my eyes went wide. "No. Cyanide. It is cyanide." JJ visibly panicked as she was the only one who knew why I was still in the small room. "What?" Rossi asked. "The almond smell is cyanide. I think I have some in my skin." Hotch called a paramedic over urgently as I tried to climb up the ladder. I found the use of my leg was impossible so when Derek lifted me I could have cried and kissed him. "You have never been so very tempting Mr Morgan." My head was on his chest and my hand on my leg. Blood fell to the floor. "She needs to get to the hospital now." Morgan commented as he placed me on the bed. He left and hit Spencer's back in an invitation to accompany me in the large vehicle.
