SCOTLAND, HOGWARTS CASTLE.

The group was downstairs in the great hall wearing their robes, jumpers and scarfs from the cold weather they had to stand in for the next couple hours or so since it was the quidditch match today. Gryffindor against Slytherin. They were downstairs for breakfast as Ron stuffed his face with a lovely English breakfast, y/n copied next to Ron, Hermione sat alongside Harry.

"Take a bit of toast mate, go on," Ron told his friend as Harry played with his food.

"Rons right Harry you're gonna need your strength today," Hermione told the boy as y/n continued to bite onto her jam toast.

"I'm not hungry," Harry replied bluntly to his friends, meanwhile Snape limped over, y/n watched.

"Good luck today Potter," he said to him, everyone looked over to him. "Now you've proven yourself against a troll a little game of quidditch shouldn't be any work for you, if it is against Slytherin," Snape told him. "And congratulations on your potions exam y/n, highest marks on how to brew a potions that can smarten ones brain, suprised you didn't take it before the test even began," Snape eventually smirked looking at each one of the twins friends before quickly striding off.

"What the hell was that all about?" Y/n said with a mouthful of food, growing slightly angry at the bullying gesture from her teacher.

"Dunno," Ron said afterwards.

"That explains the blood," Harry blurred out causing Ron, y/n and Hermione to look over at him.

"Blood?" Hermione asked, Harry leaned closer so he could whisper.

"Listen, I'm guessing Snape let the troll into the dungeons, so he cold get passed that three headed dog," Harry whispered as they listened along. "But, he's got himself bitten that's why his leg was bleeding," Harry told Hermione who just nodded at his theory.

"But why would anyone go near that dog?" Hermione questioned him, Ron and y/n exchanged odd glances.

"The day we went to Gringotts hagrid got something out of one of the vaults, said it was hogwarts business," he paused and looked over up the two opposite them. "Very secret," he finished.

"So, you're saying...," hermione paused.

"That's what's the dogs guarding, that's what Snape wants," Harry told his friends.

"I mean it's a good theory and it makes sense, but why are they guarding it, what makes it so powerful that Snape would go get it, or anyone for that matter," y/n asked, Harry just shrugged. The four first years heard screeches and looked up spotting Hedwig and Veró in support with a large parcel. They dropped the package to their owners as they caught it gazing at it oddly.

"Bit early for mail isn't it?" Hermione questioned as y/n held the thin end of the parcel.

"But we never get mail," Harry said as he placed his on the table, They laid it down gazing at it more.

"Lets open it," Ron suggested as they all began to tore apart the paper, tearring away the sheets and string revealing the glossed wood with a small end of bristle tightly kept together.
