Catra stared at her reflection with clear annoyance as she was forced to try on various dresses with her sister. She looked over to her sister who shared the same look of annoyance, her now dark brown hair was brushed to the side but it was still rather wild. Catra refused to have her hair brushed at all, she liked it the way it was and she bared her fangs hissed at anyone who tried. Eventually, everyone just gave up and let the princess have her way, but she still had to sit through the countless fittings of dresses for the festival.

"Can't I just wear my usual clothes and be done with this? I mean, I'd be more comfortable in them, and I...I just don't want to do this anymore", she wined , Caya laughed a little at her sister before yelling in pain from the prick in her side by the sewing needle. "Hey, can you please watch it?" Hours had past and the two had FINALLY chosen an outfit for each other.

Caya has chosen a simple short brown and yellow dress that went down to her knees, Catra had chosen a reddish-brown top with a skirt that had a pair of shorts under them.

Catra was visibly shaking, she had only ever attended one gathering and that ended in her kidnapping people and destroying a castle. "Okay, Catra. It's just party, but we know how that ended before." Catra gaped, "What if dad invited the other princesses and they recognize me? Of course they'll recognize me,I nearly blew up two castles!" Catra sighed, "Maybe I'm just overreacting. Even if I do see Adora I can try and convince her that I'm just trying to reconnect with the family that I never knew, ugh! What am I saying she'll never believe that!"

A knock startled her out her thoughts and out of her bed. "Geez! Just bust down the door why don't you?" She swung the door open to see D standing on the other side, she felt her face heat up but calmed herself down before he could notice. "Yes?" D looked down at her,he had to be at least nineteen, maybe twenty cause he was a giant. 'Great. Now I feel small.' "Princesses Catra, I am here as your escort to the festival, but if you don't want me to, I can get another guard." Catra shook her head, "No, you're fine. Stall we?" Catra followed D while secretly admiring his long dark brown hair that was completely loose,it wasn't wild like hers or her sister's, it was neatly brushed and rather wavy. A sudden need to run her fingers through his long locks, she shook it away.

As they were walking, they passed a portrait of the king and queen,it was probably taken before the attack. She stopped in her tracks and walked up to the portrait. "Hey D?" She called out to her escort who stopped and walked up to the princes. "Did you ever get to meet my mother? I mean, you were probably really young, but if you have, what was she like." D sighed before leaning against the wall.

"Her Majesty, Queen Kiana, was the pride of this kingdom. I'm sure the king has already told how strong she was,I can't offer you much information,I was very young, but I do remember she did participate in a martial arts contest,it was obvious to her subjects that she would win,but to everyone else, haha, they were beyond shocked. I still remember the face of the guy that was sitting next to me." The two shared a laugh before the sound of the large oak double doors opened followed by the sound of frantic footsteps. Kallen emerged from the corridor and frantically looked around until his eyes laid in the pair by the portrait.

"Oh thank goodness, I thought something had happened. Commander D, was something wrong?" D shook his head, "No, princesses Catra was simply asking about her majesty." Kallen sighed before patting D's shoulder,he looked over at Catra who was still looking at the portrait. "Catra. Everyone is waiting. I promise I'll tell you more." Catra nodded, she smiled at D before following her father.

Once outside, Catra was blinded by the bright lights of the festival that was celebrated in honor of her return. She smile, it wasn't like her usual cocky 'I totally deserve this' smile, it was a genuine bright and warm smile. "CATRA!!" Before she could even turn in the direction of where the voice was coming from, she felt a strong force push her to the ground in a death grip.

"What took you so long sis?" Caya waited for a answer, upon looking at her sister she noticed D standing behind her. She smiled and gave her sister a look. "Oh, I see. First day back and you're ready for action." D and Catra looked at Caya in disbelief before punching her the shoulder and earning a scolding from her father.

"That's enough of your absurdity, Caya. Please, can you show your sister around, and D." Before he could finish his sentence, D was already at his post guarding the entrance to the celebration. Kallen sighed, "Well that takes care of that problem, now girls." He turned to face his daughter but he found that they were gone. He sighed once again and prayed they didn't get into trouble before returning into his throne with a small but noticeable smile formed on his mouth.

—————
Caya and Catra walked through the festival, waving at passerby's who just had to get a glimpse at the pair and admiring them. Catra was actually enjoying the attention but didn't make it obvious. The clash of metal drew the attention of the twins and the crowd. Excitement could be heard in everyone's voice even Caya's, but Catra had learned from previous experience that the sound of clashing metal usually resulted in battles. Her stomach churned and twisted in fear at the thought of Adora being here or anyone of the princesses.

A thought rushed to her head as she remembered that she had left Scorpia and Entrapta back at the Fright Zone, it was late and Hordak was probably wondering where his second in command had disappeared off to. Her fear had subsided when she saw that it was just a sparing competition. She sighed and watched in amusement when something caught her attention. Her worst fear had been a reality. There she was. Adora. Or more specifically, She-ra.

And she was staring right back at her.
