I was still in shock that Max had dumped me that Friday because of Sam. I stopped putting effort into what I looked liked, stopped wearing crop tops and started wearing loose sweatshirts. Stopped wearing makeup and curling my hair, what was the point? I didn't have a reason to get dressed up anymore, the only person I ever loved walked out of my life and if what I'm hearing is correct. Going to prom with the daft bimbo, Phoebe, of course, tried to comfort me but it didn't help much. I tried to convince myself that I didn't care but I did, I cared so much about it. I cared that he moved on without a second thought, I cared that he asked another girl to prom even if he wasn't my boyfriend anymore. I cared. And I didn't know what to do about it, it was fairly clear he didn't want me back. "Y/n, you can't keep doing this to yourself." Cherry says to me, "I can and I will." I respond more coldly then I intended. " Look, Prom is next week, and I say that if Max is too stupid to see what's in front of him. Then you make him!" Cherry continues which surprises, "Show him exactly what he decided wasn't worth his time. Show him how you're broken in aaaaallllll the right ways." Cherry finishes wriggling her eyebrows. "You know what Cherry. You're right." I say agree with her, maybe that's exactly what I needed to do. Show him exactly what he threw to the curb, "Good. So after school all three of us will go dress shopping." Cherry says satisfied that she got me to agree.
TIMESKIP
Traveling the mall for hours was troublesome for 3 teenage girls who needed prom dresses. Walking into the 7th store we browsed everything there, only to come across the most gorgeous dress I've ever seen. "Guys, I think I found my dress," I say picking up the sleeve, the velvet soft in my hands. "What are you waiting for? Go try it on!" Phoebe ushers me and the dress into a changing room, quickly changing out of my clothes and into the dress I stare at myself. The dress was gorgeous and hugged me in all and every right way. Walking out the girls are both stunned, "Well, what do you think." I ask slightly nervous. Phoebe looks at me a very serious look in her eyes, "i think you're buying it."
