3rd person
Throughout the rest of the week Max regretted asking Sam to prom. Your words playing through his head of the argument you guys had, how he had called you ruined again. He wanted to apologize, but his ego got in the way. He knew he didn't love Sam, to be honest he didn't even really like her. But he thought it was better than showing up to prom alone, but when you and Phoebe walked through that door. His ego collided with reality, he saw exactly what he had gotten rid of so quickly without a second glance and he was amazed. Quickly losing sight of you as Phoebe pulled you through the crowd. "Hey man, what's gotten into you?" Oyster questions him, "Huh? Oh nothing... It's nothing."

Your PoV
"Well?" Cherry yells over the music. "He can't seem to get enough of her." Phoebe responds, Looking behind me Max and his friends are all messing around on the dance floor, "Good, that means it's working." She replies. The song fades and a slow song replaces it, there's a tap on my shoulder and I turn around to face whoever it was that needed my attention. Max stands there rubbing his neck awkwardly, "Do you -uh- wanna dance?" He questions looking at me slightly. I get thrown into flashbacks over summer camp. I see the girls walk towards the other side of the gym, thanks guys... "Yeah." I smile at him. "I'd like that," I say grabbing his hand, it seems he can't help but smile. He places both hands on my waist as we sway to the song, I lean my forehead against his shoulder and fell him pull me closer. "I'm really really sorry." He whispers to me, "I never should have thought you were lying, I never should have dumped you. I never should have called you ruined." He sighs. "I love you-you know that?" Max questions, I smile slightly. "I love you too Max," I reply, The song ends and we pull apart. "I should um, probably go find the girls..." I trail off, Max grabs my hand lightly. " I know I don't deserve it but... would you take me back?" Max asks me, I smile widely. I walk up to him placing my lips to his. I feel him smile against me, I pull away and look at him. "Good, I don't what I would have done if you had said no." he laughs. Sam claps from a not so far off distance, "Well well would you look at that. You really did get your high school ever after Y/n." Sam begins. "Just let it go." I say to her, trying to avoid a fight, "Let it go? Why I could hardly. This is your big night after all." she smirks. A lot of attention was on us now and I didn't like it. 'Just back off Sam." Max says defending me, "Alright." She smiles backing up. Releasing the rope I didn't she was holding, a loud gasp escapes my lips. Looking at myself I'm covered in mustard, mayonnaise, and what could only be vinegar. I look up at Sam, "Happy Prom." She laughs. Picking up my dress slightly I sprint out of the gym, and the front doors of the school the pouring rain drenching me even more. I sat in the rain, tears danced on my face. Mayonnaise, mustard, and vinegar covered my body. My dress was ruined, and with it. The most important night of my life.
