"Can I walk you home?"

I look over at him. We had just set foot outside, and his eyes seem to be brighter that usual.

"I'm actually not going home after school. My mom asked me to pick up some pizza. Oh, and I actually drive to school."

"You have your licence? I'm too nervous to get mine."

I smile. "Don't be. If you have enough experience then you'll do great."

"Thanks, Faye."

"Actually saying my name for once? Wow, Sawyer. That's bravery at it's finest."

He rolls his eyes. "So am I coming or not?"

I shrug. "You can do what you want, but if you come, you're paying for gas."

"Nevermind then."

He turns on his heel and starts to walk away when I yell, "I'm just joking, jeez."

"You made me question my sanity!" he yells. "Don't do that!"
