Sawyer walks into my hospital room and notices something wrong. I could see it in his face as he could see it in mine.
"What's wrong?" he asks, setting his school bag down. "Did something happen?"
I scowl. "My ex decided to pay me a visit."
"Your ex?" He sits in his usual chair and hands me a peanut butter and jam sandwich.
"Peirce Merka," I say, grimacing with my whole body "He's a damn psycho."
He cocks his head. "What did he do?"
I pull my shirt down over my right shoulder to reveal my scar. "This."
His eyes go wide. "He did that to you?"
"He sure did. With a kitchen knife, because he wanted to teach me a lesson."
Sawyer looks at me with anger and disgust written all over his face. "What kind of lesson?"
"Not to act against him, or to threaten to break up with him."
He shakes his head. "Who did this guy think he was? And to have the nerve to visit you at the hospital while you're already going through a huge recovery?"
"I know. He's a damn psycho, Sawyer. If he comes here again I swear I'm going to-"
"You're going to?" He smirks. "I think I can handle this one."
I look at him with a mix of suspicion and wonder on my face. "Are you sure about this? Peirce might murder you after."
"Not on my watch!"
