Alexis' pov:

I am unhappy.

Truly unhappy.

The war had started but now I stayed back at the village because I was unable to shift for another two weeks.... Yeah the war started two weeks ago already.

I was uneasy since Cain has not been spotted by anyone, like he had vanished into thin air but I knew for a fact he hadn't looked into anyone's eyes to make his memory disappear so where was he?

I had been telling stories to try to calm the kids, they didn't know what was going on but the stress of their parents scared them.

They were playing around tag right now as I watched with the other adults, no one truly relaxed as I'd have preferred being on the front lines despite my condition.

I had quickly healed but unfortunately with no shifting it wasn't a good idea.

Derek, Al, Mike, Anna and Max stayed back too, three of them could have gone on the front lines but they didn't.

Talking about the front lines, it was a stalemate right now, they were staring each other down then fighting and going back to staring, no side getting the upper hand long enough on the other to have any major push.

I sighed stressed before I felt someone behind me and smiled up at her.

"Hello Alexis, how are you?"

"Hi Max, I'm fine, stressed." I stood up and hugged her, not knowing today would be horrible for both. I had decided that if she truly wanted to be changed I'd tell her after the war was over and we'd take all the precautions so she wouldn't die but for now I don't want to remind her of that.

"I know love I am too." She kissed me and I gladly accepted it....... But then we heard the screams.

I looked up at the village and saw our missing man, Cain, murdering people as fighters tried to fight him and others ran.

"Tell them to run and take the boats to the island!" I yelled as I glared at Cain but he smiled, all drenched, fuck he hid underwater and now made his entrance...... It's just like that day, everything is going down just like Kark's death day.... No!

"Done! Wait stop Alexis!" I was about to run over as Cain threw a woman in the side of a house with a loud laugh. "Don't! We need to go! You can't beat him like this." Everyone was fleeing as Max ordered them too.

I looked at her and past her as the people running to the boast to head to the nearest island and then back that Cain murdering those trying to fight him, I knew he was headed for me anyway.

"Max you need to head out with them, lead them, I will hold him back!"

"I won't let you!"

"Max go!! This is an order!!" I yelled, she couldn't resist it despite him being this close it was an order addressed to her directly, I yanked my hand away from her and ignored her yell, sprinting over, I saw Max curse and pick up a small child and running to the boats, unable to disobey me.

"Let them go!" I yelled at him, bringing his attention to me. "I will not let you do this to my pack Cain!!" I glared at him.

"They took you from me! they were the one!" He had lost himself to anger and I felt my head hurt, when he is angry anyone close to him even I get a piercing headache, it is much worst if he has control over your thoughts too, I could fight despite the mental pain but others wouldn't have been able to.... I was shaking a little because history was repeating itself, we were all almost saying and doing the same things as back then.
