Spells: The ability to conjure magic, may or may not require words
Enchantments: Spells which can control or influence people
Charms: A spell placed upon an object to give it specific qualities
Sorcery: The use of black magic
Conjuration: To summon an entity or object, to call upon them
Bewitchment: To cast a spell over someone or something
Hex: A milder verse of a curse, may not seriously injure anyone
Curse: A spell intending to inflict harm or punishment upon a person or object
Jinx: A type of curse or hex that is associate with bad luck.
Incantation: A type of spell requiring a chant.
Hoodoo: A form of folk magic that is a culmination of different African cultures and was created by enslaved Africans in the New World. It is most notable for introducing zombies and voodoo dolls into Western culture.
Exorcism: The dispelling of one or more evil spirits or demons from a person or a place. Often associated with Christianity or Wicca. Depending on the culture, it may require an incantation or a talisman.
