A.I.: Acronym standing for artificial intelligence.
Robots: A mechanical devices designed to complete several complicated, dangerous, or tedious tasks automatically. The word is derived from the Czech word "robota" meaning 'forced labor'.
Androids: Robots that resemble humanoids in appearance.
Automatons: A moving mechanical device made in imitation of a human being, a precursor of robots.
Droids: Abbreviation of Android.
Bots: Derived from a shortening of "Robot", slang.
Cyborgs: A hybrid of organic and mechanical parts (Side note: I want to see someone write a story about cyborg plants, that would be cool.)
