My father was an adventurer. Sometimes he'd take me with him while other times he wouldn't. He would explain to me that the trip he is going on was simply to dangerous for a young girl like me. But in the end he always promised that he would take me next time. Which is where we are now.
Hiking through the woods to discover a whole new world. Of course my mother was against him taking me but with much persistence and begging she gave in.
"Are we there yet?"
"Not yet."
I was currently eight years old so you could say I was getting a bit excited since he never told me were he was going.
"Daddy. Were are we going?"
"Some place special. It's a place that people Including you would only assume that it's just a fairy tail. It's one of the many reasons I practically begged your mother to let you come with me."
"And she'll be here in two weeks to pick us I right?"
"Yes mam!"
I squealed as he lifted me onto his shoulders making me grin as I tried reaching for the green leaves above. Which is when I caught site of a girl who was slightly tanned hiding behind the trees with long jet black hair and silver eyes.
"Hey daddy! I see someone!" He stopped abruptly as he begin to scan the wide forest intently.
"Where are they?"
"Behind that tree." He put me down before slowly moving towards the tree I pointed to which is when I heard a twig break before I saw an arrow fly past my head piercing my fathers shoulder making him scream out in pain completely startling me.
"D-Daddy?"
"RUN!"
I tense as I hesitantly took a step back before slowly reaching my small hand out towards him which is when another arrow flew past my head and pierced his chest making him fall to his knees.
"D-Da..."
"GOD DAMN IT SPRING, RUN! AND DON'T LOOK BACK!"
I couldn't move. I didn't want to just leave him here. All of a sudden my hand was grabbed making me look up into beautiful silver eyes as I begin to cry historically.
"Come on!"
I couldn't help but stumble as she practically dragged me through the forest until we hit a cave with long fines hanging in front of it. Looking at it now it looks more like a wall then a cave.
"I-I h-have to go b-back."
"You'll die if you go back. And besides your father told you to run didn't he?"
"B-But."
"No buts."
I just curled up into a ball as I let my tears fall which is when I noticed something rather odd. There ontop of her head where black wolf ears making my eyes widen in awe as I slowly reached out to touch one.
"What are you doing?"
"N-Nothing. I just never seen anyone with wolf ears before.
"And I have never seen anyone without them."
I smiled a bit as I looked down at the cave floor which is when I noticed that she also had a tail to which I also tried to touch but my stomach rumbling stopped me making my face grow red.
"Have you not ate anything today?"
"F-Father and I where supposed to eat at the halfway mark which is were we we're supposed to make camp."
"Tell you what. I'll get you food if you tell me were you came from. I can't take you to my village since I don't know how my pack would react to someone like you."
"Someone like me?"
"Not to be rude but, your different. So do we have a deal?"
My stomach rumbled again answering her question for me as she smirked.
"I'll be right back."
"Wait. What's your name?"
"Lyra."
"T-Thank you for saving me Lyra. I'm spring."
She just nodded her head making me frown deeply as I was left alone. Being alone was a whole knew feeling for me as I let my tears slowly fall once again.
"Daddy. Please be ok."
