Long time no see

Seven years. It's been seven years since I lost Spring. I still look for her everyday and our hunters always keep an eye out but she's disappeared. Mothers not to happy that I've lost her and has even confronted Maria when she saw her lurking in the trees but unfortunately Maria hasn't seen her either. And I know she's telling the truth because she grew excited when my mother told her she wasn't with us anymore. My heart felt empty without Spring. She would be 15 by now since I'm 16. We where only one year apart and still... I regret not spending more time with her. If it were not for my training we would have never of gotten in a fight nor would Spring have run off to god knows where and got punished for doing so.

I miss her. I miss her so much.

Spring

I was running. And god I felt tired but I couldn't stop. Not now at least or els... my thoughts got caught off as I was harshly tackled to the ground by none other then Neiva.

"Cheater!"

"Define cheating."

She teased making me scowl until she kissed me. I could feel my entire body relax as her soft warm lips pressed against mine making me smile a bit till I shoved her off. She just laughed making me scoff as I straightened out my outfit while standing up.

"Oh come on. Your not that mad are you?"

"Define mad." I say in a mocking tone making her pout as she leaned into me making me immediately blush at our closeness.

"I'm sorry I used my speed to catch up to you but I couldn't help it."

"Sure."

"No. Really I don't like you to be to far away from me after all you are my mate."

I blushed even more as she caressed my cheek.

"R-Right. It's almost lunchtime so we should probably head home."

Neo- "Sorry to interrupt commander but there's an emergency."

"What is it?"

Neo looked towards me nervously making me somewhat curious on what she had to say.

Neo- "It's something we should discuss alone."

I could tell that Neiva wasn't to pleased with Neo since she has told her people tones of times that whatever they have to say they could say in front of me but some of them are still reluctant.

"Neo. Whatever you have to say..."

Neo- "I know commander but it's really something you should see before she does."

"Hey. It's ok you can tell me later." She smiled at me weakly as she helped me up. As she left I couldn't help but think of my mother as I walked into the Village and towards a shop looking for something to eat.

Honestly. What could possibly be so important that Neo couldn't tell me? Well since I have time maybe I should leave and go look for my mom. I've been putting it off for so long that it's quite possible she gave up on me. But I'm not giving up.

I will see my mom again.

Neiva

"Honestly Neo. What is so important that you just had to take my time away from Spring."

Neo- "See for yourself."

Squinting at Neo I opened up our underground jail cell only to be met by someone I thought I would never have to see or worry about.

"Lyra?"

"Hello Neiva. I'm here to take Spring back home."

Authors note
Short chapter I know but I kinda rushed through it since I'm going to see Glass in theaters with my sister today. But you have no idea how hard it was to find Fauna's pictures that match my characters description. I'm not a fan of Lyra's face shape but it's the only one I found that was remotely close to how I pictured her. Also I'm not sure what kind of tail Nieva has in her picture so picture it as a wolf tail lol Anyway I hope you have enjoyed these last two chapters 😊
