After we ate dinner, we arrived at the dance. The second we walked through the doors I saw Ben. He was dancing with another girl. I was happy he found someone to go with him, but I oddly felt really bad about turning him down. "You ok?" Grayson asked me while smiling. "Im amazing," I said almost lying. "May I have this dance?" He asked just like before. I smiled and put my hand on his. A slow song started. We danced the night away. I loved him, I had to tell him. Back and forth we stepped together. Close to the ending of the song I lifted my head into his shoulder and whispered the words I'd been waiting too long to say. "I love you, Grayson." I felt his cheeks rise, "I love you too, Blondie." I couldn't help but laugh. I pulled my head back and looked at his bright red face. "Your blushing," I said as he spun me in a circle, dipped me, and kissed me softly.

Hours later he dropped me back off at my house. I laid on my bed staring at the wall. This time it was for a good reason. I made a pledge to myself. Every time I stare at that spot on my wall it would be for a good reason. Every time I come back from a date I would stare at that wall. It was the start of something amazing.

When I woke up the next morning I got ready for the day. Usually I would lounge around on weekends, but today was special. Grayson was taking me on our first official date. He was taking me to the beach for a picnic and maybe some swimming. I wore a simple light pink bikini top with mid rise bottoms. Over the swimsuit I wore a white off the shoulder cropped top with a high waisted white skirt that matched the top. After the beach we were going to get dinner. I was bringing a tight cropped pink top with a pattern shown with lace, and a plain white skirt that fell to about mid thigh. With it I was going to wear a fringe necklace and a nude colored handbag which matched my shoes. When I heard I knock at my door I jumped up and ran to get it and leave with my handsome prince.

When we got to the beach we set up some chairs and sat for a while enjoying the company of each other. I closed my eyes. I didn't expect to fall asleep, but I did. I was suddenly awoken by the cold water touching my back. I opened my eyes to find myself in Grayson's arms.. in the ocean. "What?" I said confused. He set me down in the water, so I was standing on my own. "Hey!" He said. I laughed at him. I started shivering. He hugged me. We played around in the water for a while, but I got hungry and was ready for food.

After freshening up for a while in the bathroom, I was ready to leave. When I walked out, Grayson was already waiting. I walked towards him and spun in a circle showing off my date outfit. He took my hand and walked me back to his car.

When we arrived at the dinner place. We were seated outside where we could look out over the beach. After we ordered our food he took my hand and held it tight. "Thanks for choosing me." He said. "What do you mean?" I asked him. "There are so many guys at school that you could've chosen over me. Most people don't go for the stuck up jock," he said laughing at himself. I lifted my other hand wrapping it around his hand that was holding my other hand. "I love you, Grayson. I wouldn't have chosen anyone over you." I placed my head on his shoulder, looking out as the sun set off in the horizon above the ocean.

When I got home that night I cuddled up on the couch with my sister and explained the magical night. "He's all I've ever wanted," I told her excitedly. She shushed me and told me to just go to bed because I was annoying her with all my "Grayson talk." I went to my room and daydreamed about him. He was actually perfect. I didn't understand why he chose me, but I couldn't be more happy about it.

The next day at school people ran up to me. Word gets around fast at my school. Everyone was asking, "How do you feel about him? Is he all you've ever wanted? Is he dreamy?" At first it was sweet. I felt noticed. I was no longer the girl in the back corner. People knew me... because of my boyfriend. When I saw Ben I swerved through the crowd of people to get to him.

He was walking toward the garden doors. "Hey, Ben!" I yelled after him. I caught up to him and walked with him through the garden. "So... how's Grayson?" He asked in a way that sounded like he didn't actually care. "He's great... how have you been?" "I'm ok," he answered quickly. "Talk to me, Ben." I said eagerly putting my hand on his shoulder, "what's been going on?" "Well, After you decided to leave me for Grayson I started a writing club to distract me from you." I looked at him looking sorry. "I'm so sorry about that, Ben. You started a writing club?l" I asked excitedly. "Yea, it's only me and a few other right now, but we are always open for more people to join." "Can I join?" I asked him. "Except you." He laughed at himself, "unless you really want to." He said rolling his eyes. I jumped up and down in excitement. I put both my hands in his arm making sure I had his attention. "Thank you, Ben." I said lovingly.

After talking to Ben for a while I met up with Grayson just in time to walk to science together. I walked down one of the long hallways and met Grayson at the end. He grabbed my hand and smiled at me. I smiled back at him. We walked down another long hallway all the way to our next class.

Once school was over Grayson took me to a coffee shop to relax and finish a science project together. We sat down on a small couch together. I sat back sipping my coffee. "Everything ok, Blondie?" "Everything is great when I'm with you, Hercules," I said to him. While giggling we both got started.

Hours later we finally finished. "I have a surprise for you!" He said walking me in the opposite direction from my house. "What is it?" I asked him. "It wouldn't be a surprise if I told you, now would it?" I laughed at him while taking his hand again.

We arrived at his house. "What are we doing here," I asked. "It's getting dark and it's a school night." "I talked to your mom and she said you can stay the night with me," Grayson said. We walked around to the back of his house where we found a latter. At the top there was a rooftop living room. Grayson led me over to the couch. We sat down and snuggled up together. He wrapped his warm arms around my body as I shivered. We looked up at the stars. I leaned my head on his shoulder. Quickly I fell asleep.
