When I got home I ran to my bed. I cried. I wanted Grayson. Badly. I still had Ben, but I couldn't talk to him without feeling guilty. I cried harder. I looked at my homecoming dress. "Why!" I cried. My sister came in. "Are you ok?" Bethany asked. "Where's mom?" "She's not home." She told me. Bethany came over onto my bed. She cuddled up with me. "What's wrong, Rosie?" "Boy problems." I said as I cried harder. Me and Bethany always had a strong relationship. Our mom never pays much attention to us, so we use each other for support. It was great to have a little sister like her. She came and talked to me about my boy problems! What little sister would do that? We talked and laughed for hours until we both fell asleep.

When I woke up Bethany was already awake getting ready. She was standing by a beautiful dress. "This is for you!" I looked at her and smiled, "What?" "I got this dress for you to wear to school!" She told me. "But it's so nice!" "I know, Rosie, we are going to make all the boys jealous of Ben. Because he is the lucky guy that gets to take you to homecoming." She said. I looked blankly at her. Before I could mention Grayson she interrupted me. "He hurt you the first time. Don't trust him right now, Rosie." I trusted what Bethany said. I got out of bed and put on the dress. It was a beautiful dress. It had a white halter top that met at my belly button with a light blue high low skirt. Bethany curled my hair and did my makeup. I looked amazing. I never wore makeup. It took to long to do everyday. My hair was always put up in a messy bun. I never did anything to it. I put on the white heels Bethany had picked out. Then, I grabbed my bag and left for school.

I walked through the doors of the school feeling amazing. People watched as I walked through the long hallways. My heels hit against the tile floor each time I took a step. I looked to my left at all the cheerleaders. Their jaws dropped. "The nerd!" I heard one of them say. I kept walking to where I found Grayson. "Rosie, can we talk about yesterday?" He asked me. I kept walking. I ignored Grayson! I turned the corner not focusing on how rude that might've been. I ran into Ben. "Hey Ben!" I said "Hey... Rosie," he said sounding confused. "You like my outfit?" I spun in a circle showing off my look. "You look amazing, Rosie, but why are you all dresses up today?" "Just wanted to change it up," I said as I turned my body side to side letting my dress sway. I kissed his cheek and then pranced off down the hall.

Science class was next. Or should I call it... Grayson class. I wondered if today would be different. If I wouldn't go home being a sad little girl.  I walked up to the door. Grayson was walking from the other direction at the same speed I was. We ended up meeting at the door at the same time. "After you," he said trying to be a gentleman. I just walked in without saying anything. Class flew by. Thankfully there weren't any projects that involved parter work. When the bell rang I hurriedly walked out of the classroom door. "Rosie!" He said as he grabbed my wrist, "We need to talk! I'll meet you at your locker after school." I just went with it. As long as I could get him to leave me
alone I'd do anything.

Lunch. Lunch was a humiliating time of day. Especially when you're dressed like a princess and no one else is. I grabbed my tray and walked to find a seat. Grayson stopped me again. "Can you come with me?" I nodded. He took me by the hand and led me out into the hallway. "Where are we going?" I asked him sweetly. "Just trust me." When he was leading me to this secret location I stared at his hand. It was comforting. At first I thought he wanted to talk to me about yesterday, but something was wrong. He held me tight and we were walking fast. We were in the parking lot. "Get in!" He said in a firm voice. I did as he said. He pulled out of the school quickly. He drove fast. I finally asked, "what's going on?" "I had to keep you safe. She's coming," he told me. "Who's coming?" I asked him. Avoiding my question he answered, "she's upset with your family, Rosie. She wants you and your sister." "WHO?" Grayson glanced over at me. "My mom."

"Your mom? But why." He glanced at me. "Don't worry about, just trust me." "But, why are we running?" I said almost yelling at him. "Just trust me!"

We arrived at a public beach. "What are we doing? Shouldn't we be getting somewhere farther?" I asked scared. He chuckled, "Blondie, Just trust me." "How can you be laughing when we could die, Grayson," I said furiously. "Shhh," he said covering my mouth with his finger. We walked over to the water. "It was all a joke." He told me. I turned and hit his arm. "Why? I was scared." I didn't know if I should laugh or cry. I just hugged him. He hugged me back. "I'm sorry. I knew you never would've come if I didn't make up an excuse." A small bottle was dug into the sand. Only the top was peaking out. I bent down to pick it up. My dress flew in the wind. Grayson had stepped closer. When I stood up he wrapped his arm around my back. I looked at him and smiled. I popped the top off the bottle and took the paper out that was rolled up inside. The paper had simple words...
Homecoming? ~Attempt three~
~Grayson
I looked at him again with a huge smile on my face. "Yes," I said simply. (Again) There was no one that could ruin that moment. No one was around. He leaned down and kissed me. "Finally!" I thought to myself. Our relationship would be risky. My ex-best friends would probably come after me and the football team would probably get mad at Grayson. While thinking about the things that could go wrong I remembered another. "Ben," I whispered.
