When I got home that night I planned out the rest of my week.
Tuesday- Study for history test with Grayson
Wednesday- Plan out my look for my date
Thursday- Go to the coffee shop with Ben for our date
Friday- Make a final decision
I smiled at my list. I was dreading Friday. What if just one date wasn't enough to choose? All of a sudden my phone started blowing up with messages from Grayson. Before I could read the texts he called me.
Me- hey, Grays-
I was interrupted
Grayson- I'm at a late night rehearsal for theatre class, and we just found out we need dance partners- is there any chance you could get down to the school in about 20 minutes?
He sounded so hopeful
Me- I don't know Grayson I'm not the best dancer.
Grayson- you don't have to be good- they're teaching us everything!
Me- fine. Just for you.
I wished I could see his face.
Grayson- Yes! Ok I'll see you in 20, Blondie?
Me- you have no idea how much I wish I could see your face right now.
A few seconds later he answered me.
Grayson- I love you, too.
I giggled and hung up. I started doing that weird snort laugh I do when I get excited about something. I jumped out of my bed and got dressed.

When I arrived at the school I looked for Grayson. When I found him he hugged me, "thank you so much for coming." I smiled and followed him to the theatre classroom. Earlier that night he had sent a picture of the music. While I got ready I played it repeatedly, trying to learn the words. I never enjoyed singing but everyone told me I was good at it. The teacher called for everyone to sit down. "Before we start learning the partnered dance we need to audition you all," the lady said. I looked over at Grayson, "you didn't tell me I'd have to sing!" He laughed at me, "This is theater class." I rolled my eyes and listened as one of the other students started singing. I couldn't think of a song to sing. All of a sudden the teacher called my name. "Rosie Petrova? Are you ready, hun?" I really wasn't but I had to pretend I was. I stood up in front of everyone. The teacher asked me what song I was going to sing and I just said the first one I thought of. "Fallin' all in you... please." "Who is that by?" "Shawn Mendes," I answered quickly. As the music started I looked around and started to shake. Then the squeaky door opened. "Rosie?" He asked. "Ben," I said sighing. "Sorry I'm late Ma'am," he said. "It's fine. Take a seat, you'll be going next." Noooooooooo I thought. Both guys were in this class. At least one of them would find out what I'm doing. Especially if I sat down next to Grayson again. The music started again and that became my priority for that moment. "I'm thinking baby- you." I started. To me it felt like an hour went by during the three minutes I stood up front. Throughout the song I stared at Grayson trying not to make it obvious to Ben.

Once I finished I didn't know where to sit. Which boy do I sit by without making it obvious? I decided to sit on the front row to watch the rest of the auditions. Then it finally hit me. What would I do about the partner dance? I quickly took out my phone to text Indiana.
Me- Earlier Grayson called me and asked me to join theater class so we could do a parter dance together, but there's a slight problem.
Indiana- Wait. Isn't Ben in that class??
Me- YES- that's the problem. What should I do??
Indiana- Just say you don't feel good, then leave.
Me- I don't want to do that to Grayson!
Indiana- just wait until your date with Ben- then decide.
Me- ok fine
I didn't feel good about my decision anymore. I set my phone back down on my lap and listened as Grayson stood up on stage and sang.

When he was done, he came and sat next to me. Why?! I thought. I leaned over closer to him. "So the jock can sing?" I said while smirking. He laughed, "Some might say the same about you, Blondie." Then I giggled and it almost felt like I was blushing. Minutes later Ben got up on stage and sang his heart out. The song he sang didn't sound familiar to me. I sat listening wondering what that was. I looked over at Grayson who didn't seem confused at all. "It's an original." I was impressed. "He's kind of like a music nerd. He writes everything he sings," Grayson told me. Two guys that could sing and enjoy it? That's something you don't see all the time.

Later that night I texted Ben.
Me- sorry I didn't really get a chance to say hi earlier. But I wanted to tell you- the song you sang was amazing!! I didn't know you write your own music!
Ben- Thank you so much, Rosie. I've been singing since I was little and I've always loved it. You have a beautiful voice as well. You and I should try a duet sometime- I think it would be pretty epic.
Me- I do too☺️
Ben- Goodnight beautiful❤️
Me- Goodnight handsome
