I stayed up all night that night. I watched movies repeatedly wishing I could be like those actresses. I suddenly felt an urge to sing more. It had been a couple days since that night and it was finally date day.

When I got to school instead of looking for Grayson, I looked for Ben. When I found him I skipped over to him. "Hey, Handsome," I said poking his arm. "Hey Beautiful," he said opening his arms. I leaned onto his chest for a second and then remembered anyone could be watching. I pulled away and said goodbye to Ben. Then I skipped down the hallway to go find Grayson.

Once I finally found him he looked upset. "Everything ok, Hercules?" I asked putting his arm around me so I could look over at his phone. "What's this?" He asked showing me a picture of me and Ben... hugging. "When was this, Rosie!" He demanded. Tears filled my eyes. "This morning," I answered quietly. "Why wouldn't you tell me!!" Tears filled his eyes. "I didn't want to hurt you. You don't deserve someone like me! You deserve a cheerleader or someone all preppy and cute. That's not me, Grayson!" "But I chose you, Rosie. I wouldn't have done that if I knew I wanted someone different." The bell rang. "See you later, Rosie."

Once he walked away I knelt down on my knees and cried harder. My hands covered my face. I heard Indiana yelling my name from down the hall. I heard books drop and footsteps getting closer as each second passed. Soon arms were wrapped around me. "What's wrong!!" Indiana yelled. I shifted my body so I could hug her back. There we sat. On the floor in the sophomore hallway. All alone.

I left early. The second I got home I kicked off the heels I wore that day and put on some comfortable sweats. I jumped onto my bed. I implanted my face into the soft pillows. My face sunk in. When I lifted my head the pillow was soaked. I flipped it over covering both sides with my tears. My sister came in and sat on my bed next to my upside down body. "Are you ok?" She asked. "No," I answered. "You left your phone downstairs and you've been getting messages all night," she told me. "Grayson?" I lifted my head up. "No, Ben." I jumped up. "No no no no nooo I forgot! I was supposed to meet him for dinner tonight!" I covered my face again with my hands. "WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME!!" I screamed. I grabbed my phone from my sisters grasp. She quickly left my room closing the door behind her. I immediately texted Ben.
Me- I'm sooooo sorry, Ben. I didn't mean to. I lost track of time, I kind of had a rough day. Can you do tomorrow?
It took a while before he answered me again. I laid in my bed thinking about how horrible of a person I was.
Ben- it's fine... I think. Is it because Grayson saw the picture that was posted. And before you act surprised... you did a really bad job of hiding that from me😂
Me- I was going to tell you I promise. I just needed to know how I felt.
Ben- So how do you feel?
Me- I'm sorry Ben but honestly I need some time to myself. I just experienced my first break up. I need to process all of this before I can get into another relationship.
Ben- I understand. Break ups are hard. If you need anything I'll be here.
Me- thanks Ben😚

I missed another day of school. It's not like my mom cared or would even notice. Indiana stopped by once school was over to give me my homework and to comfort me- friend to friend. Sitting there talking to my best friend somehow made me think of Sarah and Rebecca which made me think of how Grayson comforted me during that rough patch. I just wanted to curl up on that bench again. I wanted Grayson to come keep me warm. All I wanted was him. He promised me forever and I broke it. Somehow Indiana was able to coax me out of the house. I literally looked like trash. My hair was in a big messy bun and I had still had sweats on. We ended up getting dinner at jack in the box. After we ate we went to a community pool to relax in the hot tub.

When we got there I saw a familiar face. Grayson. Indiana pushed me over towards the hot tub and turned around. "Where are you going?" I called back. "My car I forgot something," she said. I threw my towel, phone, and keys down onto an outdoor couch. I took my clothes off revealing my swimsuit. It seemed like Grayson still hadn't noticed I was there. I walked over to the hot tub and walked down the stairs into the warm water. Then he noticed. We sat in silence for a while. Finally Grayson started talking. "I'm sorry for getting so upset with you yesterday. I was just hurt. I thought we were forever." He chuckled slightly over the studded in his voice. "I'm sorry for doing such a horrible thing to you. Grayson, you're an amazing guy and I already know I shouldn't have let you go so easily." He stood up and walked through the water so he could sit next to me. "Hey," he said laughing over both of our tears. "Hi," I said gradually softening my voice as I sniffled and wiped the tears away from under my eyes. He lifted up his arms and put his hands onto my cheeks. We stared into each other's eyes for little, but soon met in a very powerful kiss. I shifted over so I was on his lap and my legs were wrapped around the back of him. I kissed him like nothing had ever happened between us.

After a while, we were just cuddling each other. One of his arms were wrapped around my shoulders and the other was holding my hand underwater. I rested my head on his shoulder. Listening to his voice, I fell asleep.
