everything and nothing

20 3 3

Walking along the streets at night,

I wonder what happened to this town,

And as try as I very well might,

I cannot seem to stop my face from showing a frown.

I look upon the old abandoned shops,

Rubbish thrown carelessly into the alleyways,

And I think of what happened to the cops,

Did they give up and let their badges lay.

And as try as I may,

I notice how messed up it is this place,

No wonder people do not stay,

With beggars thieves and police on the chase.

People they either stay or they either go,

Wanting better lives overall,

Yet there comes a time that we know,

When you have made the wrong call.

We all live for everything,

Yet we all live with nothing,

Because one minute we have everything,

Then the next we have...nothing.
