*Mew's POV

I don't have a single memory of a lab or hospital that doesn't involve pain, torture, or destruction. I had been an experiment since before I was even born. I don't know if I had a mother, but if I did, I'm sure she'd never want me. Particularly because every woman in the lab had said something insulting or threatening. I had done nothing to anyone and they still hated me. They still beat me and starved me and tortured me. All the while they would say; "There's a reason angels fall, they're a mistake. They're different."
They wanted a soldier, an assassin. Something stronger than someone called the super soldier, not someone, something stronger. They don't think I'm human. That's why whenever they wanted information, they would send me. They didn't want to "risk human lives". I hate that. What's even worse is that I just remembered everything. They had made me steal something from my dad, but Tony caught me and recognized me immediately. He gave me a truth serum and I told him everything, that's how he really found out. He apologized to me for them and said that he'd take care of them, but he accidentally stuck me in that foster home.
I don't know how I forgot that but I know that's not all of it. Unfortunately, that won't soften the blow from my dad. I just know he's going to hate me and I can't stand the thought. I'd rather die than lose someone else I care about.

*Cap's POV

"Are you sure you want to know about this?" Natasha asks.
She had agreed to meet me when... Muriel, was taken back for testing, a few days after she had been taken into a hospital back home. Tony had called in some favors. Anyway, they needed to make sure nothing was wrong.
"Will it help my daughter?" I ask.
"It could or it could hurt her because she doesn't know the whole story."
"It's worth the risk." I say.
"Alright," she says. "A project was put in place. An experiment to make the worlds best assassins/ spies. A boy and a girl. They were to be super human and emotionless. The plan was going perfectly until something happened. The girl got... pregnant and it wasn't her partner's baby. Anyway they took the egg out and froze it for research purposes. And then the boy went mad and killed the girl, then himself. They took the egg out as a last hope. Turns out that the father was a... familiar but unexpected person. Then they added another DNA strand. And that was the beginning of Project Fallen Angel. Muriel or ... Mew will tell you the rest and you need to accept how much she knows. You're daughter never lies, she hates lying. So trust her."
"Alright I will." I say. "I don't want to tell her what I really do. She thinks I'm a lab worker or something that can get you in a little bit of a jam. I can't imagine telling her that I may not come home. She made a comment about coming home. But I think that was more about her being abandoned before. I just want her safe so that makes it easier to understand."
I thank Natasha and we go up to Mew's room to wait for her to come back. It's only a few minutes later when she comes in.  Rolling an IV beside her, she sits down, looking at the IV with a hurt expression.
"Hey baby... how are you feeling?" I ask.
"Better... can we go home now?" She asks.
Me and Natasha can't help but chuckle. It was cute but funny at the same time.
"I don't know," Natasha says. "Doc, she ready to go home?"
"I believe so, but first I'm gonna need to talk to the parent or parents." He says, looking from me to Natasha.
Natasha starts laughing when my face goes red and Mew just gives me a small smile.
"It's just me." I say. "I just never really liked the thought of being married and stuff like that."
Mew looks at Natasha and then looks away. I obviously shouldn't have added the second part, it probably sounded like I didn't want her. The doctor notions me into the hallway by opening the door. He talks to me about keeping her off her feet for a few weeks and giving her some meds three times a day. And also to keep an eye on her for internal bleeding, other than that she's free to go home. I thank him, sign Mew out and get her to the car as fast as possible.
"You know what I said back there in the room it probably came out wrong." I say, trying to start a conversation. "I didn't mean it like that."
"Alright... so do you want to know about project Fallen Angel or not sir?" She asks.
"Yes please." I say, cursing myself for not thinking before I spoke in her room.

*Mew's POV

   I explain everything to my dad and he seems to be very understanding. Until he asks;
"So how does all of this relate to you?"
I look down regretting what I'm gonna say next.
"Did Nat tell you that the experiment's father's genes weren't technically uhm... brought in during the actual experiments." I say.
"Yeah... a girl got pregnant and the baby became Project Fallen Angel," he says. "Again... sweetheart how does this relate to you?"
"I am Project Fallen Angel." I say.
He almost stops the car in the freeway, I already know what's coming.
"I've only slept with... oh that's right." He says in realization.
I look away, tears forming in my eyes and look at the door handle. He probably hates me now. I try to unbuckle my seatbelt silently but fail, making my dad look over and re-buckle the seatbelt. He grabs my hand and just holds it.
"I don't care... you're still my daughter and I love you baby, and I don't know what I would do without you." He says. "Besides your mom told me she was gonna die anyway."
"Uhm... sir." I say, eyes wide.
"I just don't know when to shut up, do I?" He groans as I nod.
He starts laughing and groans. He squeezes my hand again. Probably an apology or that's what I take it for. I lay my head against the side of the seat and fight sleep.
"It's ok Mew... sleeping is good for you. And... help you ignore my stupid comments."
I chuckle, though still I try to fight sleep.
'I hate nightmares.' Is the last thing I thought before I had one.
I was back at the lab and Tony was attacking it. Then it turns into me being on an operating table and them cutting me open. No anesthetic, they wanted to hurt me and I started to scream, to beg and I hated it. I wasn't one to beg, but I did it anyway and it wasn't a nightmare. It was a memory.
I wake up to my uncle Bucky running into my room, by that time I was crying my eyes out. Everything hurts and I can't seem to stop crying. Bucky hugs me and shushes me until I can get words out.
"It... hurts." I sniffle out.
"I know kid... I know. Oh believe me, I know." He whispers. "Do you want to talk about it?"
"But... what if it gives you flashbacks?" I ask nervously.
"You tell me, I'll tell you." He half chuckles. "And don't worry about me telling your dad. He won't hear anything from me."
"Ok... have you ever heard of Project Fallen Angel?"
