*Cap's POV

I walk into the apartment and Loki has a strange smile on his face.
"What?" I ask bitterly.
"Well... Night would like her memories that she lost and I know people who can help. But, I thought you should know that when I gave her the one memory I could she... she." He continues to stutter.
    "What, what happened?" I ask.
"She broke down into tears and the pain she felt in the memory, she's still feeling now."
"What? Why would you do that, I mean just why?" I say angrily.
"She wants her memories back. But she wants your permission."
"No, just no. Not going to happen." I say. "Did you tell her that she could?"
He nods, I grab him by the ear and pull him outside on the walkway. I point at the stairs, he shakes his head and starts laughing. That makes me so pissed that I slam his head on the wall, he comes away with blood covering his entire face. I growl;
"Stay the hell away from my daughter, I see you here again you'll have more than a broken nose."
I shove him towards the stairs and stalk past him into the kitchen. I grab a cup and fill it with cranberry juice, Mew needs a healthy diet to get well soon. I bring it to her room. She's wearing a big shirt, one of mine, the medical wrap that is around her chest and arm is easily seen. She's reading something, while crying.
"What's wrong sweetheart, was it a memory?" I ask, setting the cup down on a table next to her door.
It breaks my heart to see her cry and if her memories make her this hurt, my answer is never.
"My friend who I thought was uhm away, is in town and he's staying." She says, smiling.
I walk to her bed and lay down next to her, trying to figure out how to tell her about my decision. I just want to protect her though, and I can't do that if she gets her memories of the lab back. Natasha said they were terrible.
"Would uhm that friend be from the lab?" I ask.
She nods and looks at me with hopeful eyes. I shake my head and bite my tongue.
"Look... about Loki's offer, I have to say this." I say.
"Yes dad?" She says.
"I will never let that happen." I say, sternly.
"What, but dad!"
"No, I won't let you. I'm your father and I have to put my foot down!"
"But..."
"I don't care, my answer is still no. I don't care if I have to watch you all day, you're not going. I don't want you to." I say, trying not to sound like a child.
     "Why not?" She asks.
"Because of this, your reaction to just one memory. It was terrible, I don't like that and I won't let that happen again. Speaking of which, I won't let you "
"Alright." She says, her voice wavering.
"Good, now I'm gonna go take a shower. Are you good by yourself."
She rolls her eyes and laughs a little bit. I take that as a yes and head out. After my shower I feel so tired that I check on Mew then go to my room and basically pass out.

*Mew's POV

I can't believe that I'm thinking about disobeying my father. I was contemplating on whether to talk to Loki or please my dad. The Loki idea is winning, ok has probably already won.
'I need to do this... but my dad... but.'
My brother answers my question first.
'Fallen, how are you?' He asks.
'Really tempted to take that offer even though my dad thinks it's a terrible idea...'
'Well be grateful I love danger, or else I wouldn't tell you to go for it.'
'What did he do?' I ask, concerned.
"Smashed my nose into a million bloody pieces." Loki says through the window, making me shriek.
"If he did that why are you here?" I ask,  opening the window. "Let me see it."
He crawls in and sits on my bed like a little kid. I place my hands on either cheek and he gives me a smile, nervously.
"I want to help you and protect you, but I can't do that if you can't protect yourself. I wish your dad could understand." He says. "...Just be gentle with fixing your dad's threat."
I push it back into place until I hear a pop and I feel something flow from my fingertips. His nose slowly moves back into place as I get a small head rush.
"Now how do we do this?"
"I actually got some friends of yours on my side. So when your dad's gone on a 'mission', me and Peter will sneak you out. Now Bucky will tell this plan to your father so he will get all protective and have just Bucky watch you while he's away. Then Bucky will sneak you out."
"Wow, anything else?" I ask, jokingly.
He shakes his head and gives me that warm smile he only lets me see. I lay my head against his chest, his arms wrap around me gently.
"Oh yeah Mew sweetheart...," my dad starts. "What the... what did I tell you about coming near my daughter!"
He grabs Loki and drags him to the ground, punching him. I jump up and grab his arm.
"Dad, dad stop! Please, just stop!" I plead, grabbing his arm.
He flings me across the room and into the wall. I feel my shoulder crack and everything starts to feel like it's burning. Someone touches me and I flinch away, terrified.

*Cap's POV

I hadn't meant to hurt her, I was just trying to protect her. But all I had done was made her scared. When she flinched away, it made my heart shatter. She was afraid of me. I turn and ask Loki;
"Will you please leave?"
He does as asked and I turn to tend to Mew, she's shaking violently.
"Sweetheart, where does it hurt?" I ask, calmly as possible.
"Sh-shoulder, my shoulder. It hit the the wall." She stutters out.
I start to feel for any more damages to her shoulder, it just popped. I help her to her bed and tell her to stay still while I go get her some ice. When I come back she's trying to get up, unable to use her left shoulder.
"Damn it Mew, what did I tell you about getting out of bed." I say. "You are getting on my last nerve sweetheart."
"Sorry sir I was just trying to get off my side."
I nod in disbelief and chuckle. I walk over and place the bag of ice on her shoulder. I lift her shirt up to look at her other bullet wound. It's not bad just a big bruise and stitches. She winces when I touch it and curls up into a ball.
"I didn't mean to hurt you, you know that right?" I say, putting fingers underneath her chin.
"But you meant to hurt Loki, and that stings dad. I want you and my brothers to get along, is he ok?"
"Only bruises," I say. "It was for your protection. I just didn't handle it well."
She looks away and doesn't respond for a few minutes. I kiss her and tell her to call me if she needs me.
"Dad, it's acceptable," she says. "You were just trying to protect me. Can't say your intentions were the purest but they were what you thought was best."
"I always mean the best for you." I half chuckle. "Do you need or want anything?"
"Can I go to the library tomorrow?" She asks.
"Sure, me and Tony'll take you, he's been itching to see his niece."
