Mew's POV

I look up at the blank ceiling, feeling just undeniably numb. It was just one of those days. I know I could talk to my dad or Peter, but I don't feel like getting pity. Or like hearing a man's opinion on my problems. I feel like hearing the hard truth. I get up off my bed and walk down the hallway, until I reach one of the very few people I trust enough to not tell my dad or Tony. I knock on Nat's door. She opens the door and gives me her usual smirk. Then the smirk fades when she looks at my demeanor.
"What's up Angel, aren't you supposed to be in bed?"
"I'm having one those days where I just feel like shit for no reason and I don't really want to listen to a man try to solve my problems. I was wondering if I could talk to you, in the training room, please auntie Nat?"
I give her my best kitten-eyes, and she starts laughing.
"You've been working on that. Excellent!"
"I've got to. Otherwise I will have no chance of surviving when my dad finds out that I'm fifteen."
"Fair point. C'mon let's get going before your boyfriends or father notice we're awake."
I roll my eyes at her and she follows me to the training room. As soon as we get there, I go to the center of the room to the training ring. I let Natasha choose the weapons for today. She comes out with axes, one of the hardest weapons for me to use. I can never grip it quite right and I have trouble balancing it because the weight isn't all equally distributed like in other blades. I'm feeling a little bit annoyed that I let her pick the weapons. But Natasha hands me my black metal arm guards. I slide them up my arms they cover my entire forearm and curve over my hand just above my knuckles. Just as I slide my arm guards on a metal blade comes towards my head. I block just in time.
      "Good reflex... now talk."
We continue the exercise.
      "My dad's been overprotective."
"And?"
"I'm sick of every single person with testosterone in my life treating me like an ignorant, weak, child. I can take care of myself, from kicking ass to paying rent."
"Men are annoying."
"I hope that doesn't apply to me miss Romanoff."
I turn and see a dark skinned man in a black duster and a black eyepatch. I think I recognize him from previous files. I believe he started the Avengers.
"Who are you?" I cross my arms.

Cap's POV

I sit up and yawn. I couldn't sleep and I've had a bad feeling in my gut since Mew went to bed. She had gone to bed early and I wasn't sure if she ate dinner. I had assumed she had until Thor asked if I had fed her. I then realized she hadn't eaten all day.
I hear someone knocking vigorously at my door. I get out of bed and walk to the door. It opens to reveal Peter.
"Mr.Rogers it's Mew, I think she's in trouble."
     "What?"
"She's not in her bed or in the hallway, or in the living room. She's just gone."
I grab my phone and prepare to call Mew's number but see a text from, freaking Fury. It says, "Don't worry the little one's with me and so is Romanoff." The text is in a group chat with everyone in HQ, well besides Peter.
"She's with Fury," I say coldly. "Good luck Mew."
"Mew alone with someone who acts like a stubborn jerk at first? Good luck Fury."
     "Excuse me?"
"Mew's not comfortable to be her completely true self around a lot of people here. The true her is a force of nature, you just haven't seen it yet, Tony, Matt, and I have. She can handle herself."
     "And you know this how?"
"I've known her for longer. Plus I'm close to her age."
"Who, Captain," another boy asks, I think Matt. Peter nods. "Oh yeah, she can handle herself. There's a reason I call her Captain."
"So it's not because she's his daughter. Really?"
"Wait so he's her father me and Rhodes have been trying to figure that out for a week and a half."
"Really, she looks just like him?"
"Not the point," I say. "We need to get to Fury.

Mew's POV

The man walks behind his desk and takes a seat, his fingers resting in a diamond shape. There are people on all sides of me, blocking the exit.
"You never answered my question," I say. "Who-"
"Who I am is not a concern the question is who-"
"Excuse me," I say, rather loud. His eyebrows shoot up to his forehead. "You cut me off and that was very rude. But you should at least say excuse me. I may be young but at least I have manners. Now excuse me for the interruption."
"Excuse me!"
"Thank you that's better now continue your speech."
He clenches his fists then breathes. He continues.
"I'm someone who knows everyone," he says. "At least I thought I did. Then you all of a sudden show up. So who are you?"
"No one important."
He lays a file down. It has a picture in it of me fighting someone. It was my first mission for the Avengers. Then he places down another one, this one still me but younger. I don't remember this one. I chuckle. Then look around and everyone settles.
"One picture and you are. So I'll ask again, who are you?"
I arch an eyebrow. He rolls his eyes.
"Bugs Bunny."
He gives me an annoyed and confused
look.
         "You can call me Mew."
"Good, a name."
"Why do you have an eyepatch?"
He lifts it to reveal a scarred eye.
"A cat scratch. Huh? Not so cool of a story so I bet you made one up. Pretty cool too."
He waves his hand and everyone but two people leave. A man with a tag that read Coulson, and Nat. I turn around to a mad man. I all of sudden get a headache. Another memory. They come back little by little that's what the Dive must have done. Then I see some of him, his soul.
"Nicholas Joseph Fury," I whisper to him. "You're a good man. But although my father trusts you, I do not yet."
"Nor I you. No one has called me that in a long time."
I smile.
"Our little secret."
"If you tell me, Mew, who you are."
"To be honest I don't exactly remember. Just.... a person who should not exist. Born of an accident between the so called perfect assassin and a so called perfect soldier. Taught to be the counter and better of both."
He looks at me confused.
"So in short you're a badass with humility."
"I hope so."
"A few more questions."
I hold my hand up and turn my head. There's a clicking noise, it sounds like a...
         "Everyone get down!"
I flip over the desk and pull Nickey to the ground as bullets start flying through the walls. I crawl over to the door and wait. When I hear a click of two chambers. I burst out of the door and grab one of the guns. Then I pull it and send the guy flying into the one next to him. I walk over to them and look back.
         "Anybody got some handcuffs."
Then I hear.
"Mew!!"

Cap's POV

I rush in and see my baby girl standing over two men with machine guns. I call out to her. She looks at me and looks at them.
"Uhh. They were like that when I got here."
I give her an annoyed look but give her a big hug.
       "Don't ever do that again!"
"Wasn't my fault, Nicky just kinda showed and Nat wouldn't let me take him."
"Nick Fury," I growl then approach the man. "If you even think about touching my daughter again, I won't hesitate to beat you."
Then I turn and half kneel towards Mew. Then I rub her cheeks.
"Mew, my sweet angel," I start. "Are you..."
"Dad. If you start acting like I'm five I'm gonna scream." She chuckles.
I give her a stern look.
"I'm fine dad."
I look back at everyone. I see Coulson in the background. His mouth drops open. He looks from me to Mew. Fury smirks at Mew. Mew gives him a nod.
"I expect a monthly update on her powers and health."
Mew grabs my hand and shakes her head.
       "No."
"I've spent enough time being used as a guinea pig or a weapon for people who need neither. I am not a slave to others games, I will play with you but not for you."
I smile at her. I'm so proud of her. That's my girl.
Fury looks at her and does something I've never seen before.
"Please forgive me for being so rude. I owe you my life and respect." He offers out his hand.
She shakes his hand.
"Thank you."
"My pleasure, Cat Scratch." Mew winks.
        "Bugs Bunny."
I look between her and Nick. She just smiles and winks at me.
         "Mew hun, let's go home."
I grab her hand. We start walking.
"Captain," Nick calls our. I turn. "I'll try my best to keep her from getting as much unwanted attention as I can."
I nod at him. Then start walking.
"Start by getting a bit of manners," Mew states, jokingly.
           "I'll try but no promises."
