Aboulomania, a disorder based of  of the noun Abulia meaning the abnormal lack of ability to act or to make decisions.

People can be very indecisive at times but aboulomania means that it can take weeks, even months to make just a simple decision. It can hinder the well being of the person and they could even develop anxiety related issues about the topic they have to decide on.

Some people may say things like "Oh, I guess then I have that because I can never make a decision, it takes me soooooo long to make a decision!" And I have heard it happen before, but about 80-90% of the time they are just a bit indecisive.

Aboulomania can effect a persons judgement on the topic or they can overthink the pros and cons of choosing it. It takes an abnormal amount of time to choose a small thing; sometimes it could also make others upset with you.

The symptoms of Aboulomania as defined by Penn State University (sites.psu.edu) are:

Avoiding spending time aloneAvoiding personal responsibilityBecoming easily hurt by either criticism or disapprovalBecoming overly focused in fears of being abandonedBecoming passive in relationshipsFeeling very upset or helpless when relationships endHaving difficulty making decisions without the support from othersHaving problems expressing disagreements with others

Some more information about Aboulomania is that it could be caused by the over involvement of parents in a child's life that may affect the way they function in society when they are 18+.

Feeling helpless, scared of being left alone, criticism, and decision making are only a few of the fears a child may grow up with, and they may develop Aboulomania. Individuals with this disorder may feel the need to have another person fulfill the role of caregiver to them, just so they feel safe and not overwhelmed. This disorder will cause trouble not only to the person who has it, but to the people around them as the affected person may become overly "clingy" or dependent to a point where they could be seen as "childish" and "annoying".
