Did that photo startle you - or make you uncomfortable? Haha, I'm sorry about that mate, but that may mean you have arachnophobia.
Ah - rak - no - phobia
arachno - arachnid meaning spider
arachnophobia is the fear of spiders.
The fear of spiders is the slight - major discomfort when seeing those - creepy 8 legged things. It is one of the most common fears among people.
Someone who has arachnophobia may go to extreme lengths to avoid situations with arachnids by simply refusing to go near it, completely avoiding areas known to have spiders, or even skip activities where a small spiderweb was found.
The person who has arachnophobia could, if their fear is so great, even refuse to go outside or with friends and could freeze at the sight of one. Arachnophobia is a persistent and excessive fear that could interfere with daily, social, and mental health.
symptoms:
- discomfort when seeing a spider
- avoidance of events where there is a higher chance of seeing a spider.
- panic, usually screaming and swearing when encountering one
- loss of love/passion for outdoor activities.
Causes:
- evolutionary psychologists suggest that it was a survival technique
- Traumatic experience
- developed overtime
experts don't really know the cause of arachnophobia, but it has again, become on of the most common fears known.
As for my conclusion (which I'm sure all of you came for), spiders are creepy little heckers.
Thanks for reading!
