The guys were able to somewhat calm me down, but I wasn't ready to be in my own. At least that's what they said. So we were driving around in this crappy minivan. The guys were all quiet, they would only mumble on some occasions.
I was in the passenger seat, at the front. I felt pathetic. One for acting like such a wuss, especially in front of the guys and two, because I cared what they thought of me while I was still in shock about all of this.
I knew I wasn't some super macho guy that never cried, I just didn't expect this.
How could she have done this? Why? I don't understand. I want to know what drove such an innocent, lovable girl to end her life.
"I want to go to her house," my voice didn't sound like my own.
"No, we can't. That's not something-"
"Take me to her fucking house. I wasn't asking," I glare at Jake who was driving.
I could tell he was scared of me, all of them were, they weren't going to argue with me.
Without saying anything, he started taking a different route.
"How did it happen? Do you know?" Gus asked.
"They found her body on the roof," I shake my head at the thought of it all.
"Damn. Who found her?" Nick asked.
"I don't know. I don't know anything. That's all my mom told me before I ran out," I mumble.
"Yeah she didn't tell us much either," he breathes out.
"Should I tell Irene?" Jake asked.
I don't say anything.
That girl still pissed me off.
Irene and Lilah were best friends. It was honestly something for the books. They've been together since before they even started puberty.
It worked out amazingly when we were dating. Since Irene was with Jake and Lilah was dating me, there wasn't really any trouble with us and it's how our little friend group expanded.
But around the same time that we had broken up, they were having some disputes. Lilah was starting to stand up for herself and recognized how poorly she was being treated by Irene. For once she put Irene in her place. Irene didn't take that so well. She managed to talk smack about her to the guys and they carelessly listened and believed her. I tried staying out of it as much as I could.
Even though we were already broken up, I defended her when I could. They had no right to talk down to her. She is an amazing girl.
Was an amazing girl.
God I can't believe she's gone.
The car comes to a slow stop. And I immediately look out the window.
There it was.
The house still looked normal. Of course the lawn looked like it hadn't been trimmed in a while. There were splotches of yellow here and there. Christmas lights were still hanging. The driveway was empty, it looked like nobody was there.
"How do you think her sister is taking it?" Gus asked.
"Which one?" I mumble unable to look away from the roof.
"Which one? She had more than one?" Nick asked.
"Yeah, it's her older sister Neveah, then her, and then Bruno and Fernanda," I explain.
"She never told us there was four of them," Jake frowned.
"She mentioned it before, you guys just never paid attention, unlike the times your snotty girlfriend would trash talk about her," I rolled my eyes.
