"Please..." Hey! I know how to be polite. And I really need to know how deep into a mess I am right now, so don't think bad of me for inquiring about the smaller details. "I-If it's not to much to ask." I am a shy person, okay!
"First of all, this place is called the Forest." That makes sense. It's green and full of trees. I think I could have guessed as much. "And that over there is The Forest Temple." My gaze followed to her index finger and yep. That's a temple. Within. A. Forest. Makes perfect naming sense.Did I just see a wry smile. See? She even knows the name is lame!
"But, where exactly are we?" That's the real question here. I mean, it's pretty obvious I am lost in the middle of nowhere with not a single memory of who or what or whatever I am. I guess I am Audrey right now.
"Well..." I made her think! See? She's even with the hand under the chin pose! I made Dora the Explorer think! Who is Dora the Explorer anyway? Weird. That name is weird. "If I had to put into a geographical location, I think it's an island somewhere within the Chicxulub crater off the Mexican Gulf coast." Oh. Christen is knowledgeable. I should increase my rating of her right now. Ding. It's up by like three hundred points.
"I don't know where that is." What? You expect a random chick(?), dude(?), person(?) who can't remember know their name, know where a specific geographic location is?
"I could have guessed as much." Christen giggled slightly. It's weird seeing a Lara Crofty girl giggle like that. Who's Lara Croft? Useless knowledge begone. "Anyway, I have a more serious question for you." Here comes the big bomb. Please don't kill me. "Why are you in a Summer dress in the middle of a jungle?"
"Huh?" Huh? I am in a Summer dress? I... guess I am. It's all new to me! "I... got... lost...?" That's the best I could with. How do you expect me to explain that I was floating in the nothingness.
"Bahahaha! You are so funny!" Christen, that is not a laughing matter! My knees are exposed! I feel the breeze in weird places! I am barefoot! And... ugh... bugs.
"And what are you doing here?" Yes. If you are questioning, I am pouting. I am like a balloon right now. A big blushing mess of a balloon. Who am I narrating this to? What am I? A protagonist? I should stop with this, but I guess I can only talk with myself.
"I am obviously going to get the treasure hidden inside the temple!" It was not that obvious. Wait. Treasure? You got me interested, girl. "Wanna come, Audrey?" Really? Is this the so-called 'fateful encounter'? Lucky me.
"Yes..." I had to answer meekly. It's part of my persona. Don't judge me. I know you are already anyway.
"Good! Because I need to protect you from the hazards and the predators inside of the forest." Wait. I think I just heard a piece of very crucial information I was ignoring. Yep. I am grateful I met her. Thank you. You are a savior. I am forever in debt to you, kind soul. "You wouldn't be able to survive here for an hour." Christen, that was unnecessary.
"Thank you..." I need to show I am grateful. This chick just offered to be my paladin!
"Sh...! Do you hear that?" Don't raise flags like that, Christen. What's a flag anyway? Stupid, useless knowledge. Where do you come from!
Oh no. Oh no. Oh no. Oh no. It's coming. I can hear it speeding over here. It's coming over. The bushes a moving. It's jumping. I can see it now. It's...
