It was a large, almost two-meter (6'6 ft.) tall, furry harbinger of death. Its rounded ears, wet nose and pointy sharp teeth were not a good signal at all. It came out of the bushes as if strolling through their own turf, but stood in two legs as they saw us. In other words, it was a freaking bear! I am so done for.

"Ah!" I instantly covered my face and crouched. I know it would have better to feign off death and act like a puppet whose strings were cut, but somethings don't come to mind when you face the actual thing, you know.

"What are you doing?" Was that a mocking voice I heard from Christen? Why is she so calm? And why is she watching me with pity in her eyes? I am so confused.

"E-eh?" At least I tried to voice my confusion in some way or another.

"You are acting as if you saw a ghost or a deer . It's just a bear." She scoffed. Christen is mocking at me! She is laughing and I am getting bullied! Someone help me. Wait. I think I missed a really important piece of information. Deer are scary? Eh?

"Deer?" I had to ask. This is not making any sense to me.

"Yes, deer are this..." Why did she stopped? Oh. More rustling sounds. Are they more bears? I will act tough this time and not lose any more face. Not that I have any right now. "Audrey, there's no time to explain!" Christen grabbed my hand. It was soft and warm. I could easily lose myself in this... Hey! Quit yanking me! Gosh! Talk about being forceful...

"It hurts...please" I think the way I am thinking was programmed in some way or at least these plays defies the logic that I already knew. "Be gentler..." No. I will not admit or deny the fact that some liquid might have emerged from the corner of my eyes.

"I am sorry, but there's no time to explain." Christen yanked me closer and brought me into a hug. Why do I feel like the princess of the story? "They are coming." Well, this seems like we are stuck in a very serious mess right now.

There was a snap, like a whip cackling with a sonic boom. Did Christen possess a whip? I can't remember. And how the hell is it wrapped around the bear's neck? Is she some sort of superhuman tomb adventurer? If so, where is his brown hat? This place is unreasonable.

"How? When? Why? What?" I know I don't make any sense, but I have many questions. I need answers, girl. Start talking!

"No time to explain! They are even closer! Get on the bear! Now!" She ordered and practically pulled me with her with a flashy stunt towards the wild bear's back. I guess it's our mount now?

"Who are coming?" I still need answers.

"The deer." Christen looked at the bushes with a frightened expression. What's so bad about little mammals with horns? I mean even the bulky furry is uneasy. Oh! OH! O-OH! Shit! So... those are deer! Fuck! RUN!
