Seher's POV
"He was different. He made me feel things that I never felt before, he made me want to believe in love. He always supported me no matter what, he used to say that he's so lucky to have me in his life but that's not true...I was his misfortune..." Ms. Claire paused.
"Only if I hadn't gone out that night after having a fight with him...only if he didn't come after me that night..." She trailed off.
"H-he would have been alive right now. That unfortunate accident would have never happened. I just cannot stop thinking about how I could have avoided all of this...I cannot stop thinking that I should probably committ suicide or something so that I can meet him after death and tell him how sorry I'm and that I love him so much" She continued, her body started shaking terribly as she cried her heart out.
I passed her a glass of water asking her to calm down.
This is what has been happening since the last two sessions we had together...she walks in here like any other normal person would but then when we would ask her about her improvements that if she still has those suicidal thoughts all the time and there she goes talking about her late fiance who died in truck accident a few months back.
This is exactly how everything usually goes, except that I'm attending the session alone today.
I don't usually take these sessions alone as I'm doing my internship currently, so my senior doctor, Dr. Morgan is the one who usually does all the talking or rather should I say, listening. But today he is on a leave because of some family emergency.
I'm sure it must have been something really important otherwise he wouldn't have taken a leave...because I know how dedicated and passionate he is towards his work and he never takes leaves unless it's something too important and unavoidable.
He is in his mid fifties, he's a very kind man and he has his own ways of talking to his patients. He is the best psychiatrist in San Francisco.
As I said earlier being an intern I cannot take these sessions alone, so the hospital did contact Ms. Claire, informing her that her appointment is unfortunately, postponed but she insisted on speaking with Dr. Morgan directly.
And Dr. Morgan did spoke with her and later he asked me to take this session and just sit and listen to her because she desperately needed someone to talk to.
Hence, all the other appointments were rescheduled but not Ms. Claire's.
Also I'm not the only one who is doing internship under Dr. Morgan, there are two other interns as well, Daniel and Susan, and they are getting married this weekend so they are on leave as well.
The two of them are really funny and good company to be around. The three of us are friends since the day one we started our internships.
The three of us are just kind of assistant to Dr. Morgan but he also asks our input and views on every patients case. And generally we are the ones who prescribe medicines to the patients who need it but only as per Dr. Morgan's instructions because since we are still not fully trained doctors we are not allowed to prescribe medicines on our own though we can do the consulting and all if permitted by our senior doctors.
"Ms. Claire first of all you need to understand the fact that your fiance is no more and also he's not coming back. And neither can you meet him after death as you said earlier" I said softly, snapping out of my thoughts.
"You need to come in terms with your fiance's death first and also that it wasn't your fault at all" I added.
"And what does your family has to say about your condition...your suicidal thoughts. Have you told them yet?" I asked.
