[Y/L/N] takes one last look at the forest before curling up in her nest, wrapping her tail around her muzzle and falling asleep.
[Y/L/N] wakes up to a gray paw prodding at her side harshly, and looks outside to it still being dark. She lets out a startled hiss, not being able to see who it is. "Mouse brain!" [Y/L/N] immediately recognized Jayfeather's quiet hiss and scent. "Jayfeather? It's the middle of the night!" [Y/L/N] realizes his fur was matted, and he looked like he ran thousands of fox lengths to get here. "It'll be hard for me to come here during the day time," he hisses softly. [Y/L/N] was about to ask why when she remembered how Spottedleaf warned her not to go on the clans' territories. The clans must not usually go outside of their territories, too. [Y/L/N] realized he might not be supposed to be here. "Okay," [Y/L/N] responded, letting out a soft purr. Jayfeather continues to look at [Y/L/N] blankly, and he seems to be squinting. What is he doing? Not wanting to upset the tom, [Y/L/N] just stared back at him with a questioning expression. Jayfeather snapped back into reality and muttered "Sorry." before turning away. My head hurts... [Y/L/N] gently shook her head and gave her chest an awkward lick. Jayfeather muttered something [Y/L/N] didn't hear. "What was that?" [Y/L/N] asks, pricking her ears. "D-do you like your den?" Weird... I haven't heard him stutter before. "Are you joking? Its beautiful, Jayfeather." She saw his eyes brighten slightly. [Y/L/N] knew he couldn't see the den he made, and he must have needed help finding such beautiful pebbles and feathers. [Y/L/N] could understand why he had doubts about it. "If you say so." he groaned. [Y/L/N] was about to touch his shoulder with the tip of her tail to reassure him, but drew it back immediately. He clearly wouldn't respond well to that... "I smell an infection...?" [Y/L/N] heard Jayfeather's alarmed mew with a question to its tone. Confused, "What?" Is all [Y/L/N] could respond with. Without warning, Jayfeather stood up and circled [Y/L/N], sharply smelling her. "You have an infected thorn in your pad," he muttered. What? I haven't felt anything... [Y/L/N] cuts off her thinking to lift the paw Jayfeather noticed just to realize how much it hurt. "That must have been there for a while. Its been getting better." [Y/L/N] retorts defensively, not wanting to bring any attention to it. "Getting an infection isn't getting better!" he spat. Jayfeather exits her den leaving [Y/W/N] startled, before coming back with a mixture of herbs in his jaws. "Er... What?" [Y/L/N] has heard of herbs, but never was taught how to use them. If she was, she didn't remember how. "Jayf--" [Y/L/N] doesn't manage to finish her sentence before she realizes Jayfeather is already working on her pad, and he casts her an angry glance. "Just let me help you! That isn't too much to ask for," he whispered the last part under his breath, making [Y/L/N] unable to hear it. [Y/L/N] stops protesting and Jayfeather finishes treating her paw, with a content look in his pale eyes. "Try to stay off your paw as much as you can for a few days," Jayfeather advised sternly. [Y/L/N] rolls her E/C eyes, knowing he can't see it. How does he expect her to hunt? "Okay. Thank you, Jayfeather." Jayfeather responds with a brief nod.[Y/L/N] notices the gray tom begins to look uncomfortable, and then she realizes her pelt is heating up. I'll go get some water. "I'm going to get some water at the waterfall near my den." [Y/L/N] says drowsily. "I'll come." Jayfeather leaps onto his paws. He seems restless. "Right." [Y/L/N] steps outside her den, feeling the cold air brush against her fur. She gracefully leaps next to the waterfall, Jayfeather close behind her. After settling down, [Y/L/N] thirstily laps at the cool water, enjoying the gentle waves hitting her tongue. Jayfeather settles beside her, his fur almost brushing [Y/L/N]'s F/C pelt. After a few short moments, [Y/L/N] notices Jayfeather, squinting at her blankly again. Jayfeather snaps his head away and hastily laps at the water, clearly embarrassed. Mouse dung! Another headache. "I should get back to my camp. I don't want anyone noticing I went out this late." he meows, with disappointment hinting his voice. "Okay. Goodbye Jayfeather!"
Jayfeather flicks his tail and bounds off into the forest once again.
