LOVE PREVAILS

Chapter Seven

Majnoon is an innocent girl, lively, sweet ,friendly, free with everybody, a talkative but now she has changed atimes I find it difficult to understand how she feels ;she is now reserved and calm.
She has once been in a relationship when we were in ss3 ,this guy is from Abaji at Imam street and his name is Adeel ,he professed his love for her, after so much pestering from Adeel she later accepted him because she also fell in love with him.
They were so much in love with each other;I remember when we were in boarding school she always talks about him that we her friends wished we will get someone that will also care about us.
After we finished our WAEC, each time I visit her at home and I asked her of Adeel she always says that for quite a while now she have not heard from him, his mobile number is always unreachable, and that she asked one of his friends if Adeel is around, the guy told her that Adeel is in school he got admission at university of Abuja.Majnoon was surprised that he didn't even inform her about it.
Then she asked the friend if he has heard from him recently and he said yes, then Majnoon asked of Adeel's number;he gave her the number and left.
Majnoon called Adeel.....................

Adeel : hello, who is this?

Majnoon : it's Majnoon

Adeel : surprised how she got his new number, Hi! how are you

Majnoon : sighed am okay since you no longer care about me...

Majnoon ended the call but Adeel didn't call her back since then and she promised herself never to call him again; she heard he is back & he didn't care to check up on her. One faithful evening I was at Majnoon's house I decided to sleepover at her house, she told me she is going to confront Adeel that day.
By 5pm we went to his street and we saw him sitting; gisting & laughing with his friends.Majnoon went to them and salamed,then Adeel went aside with Majnoon to talk......

Majnoon : what is the meaning of what you are doing to me

Adeel : I don't know what you are talking about

Majnoon : painful smile you changed your number and you didn't bother to call me with your new line; I got the number from your friend I called you but you never called back, you even got admission & you didn't let me know; you are back for break you didn't care to ask of me..... Adeel why have you changed so much

Adeel : Majnoon am sorry I have to do this to you ,I didn't know how to approach you with the issue that's why.....

Majnoon : what happened Adeel?

Adeel : it's just that am in love with someone else we met in school,you should move on.... You need to see this girl she is so beautiful trust me!

Majnoon : in tears please Adeel you know I love you so much and you are the first person I ever loved, don't do this to me.... where will I start from please!

Adeel : please it's over between us and left

I went to Majnoon and wiped her tears and that she should control herself we are in a public place.
When we went home, Majnoon entered her room and break down completely she was crying so much telling me that what has she ever done to deserve this from him; she never argue with him, she never gets angry or annoyed with him for any reason no matter what he says to her.
I hugged her and told her that it's not her fault that he left her.
I also cried so much because I have never seen Majnoon so shattered.
For complete six months Majnoon sleeps and wake up with tears, their memories together is still fresh to her,she has been battling to move on but she is finding it difficult.
Lots of good looking guys have been trying to get her attention but she always ignore them because she said men are all the same.
Right now she don't want to ever set her eyes on him there is one of our friends Amal that stays at Imam street she don't like going to her house so that she won't get to see Adeel.
Even today that she got angry, is the reason behind that; she don't like it when a man tells her about love and when she got home Mimie was like, she should be happy because you told her that you love because she (Mimie ) is the most beautiful among us, so you are meant to have feelings for her and not Majnoon.
They were exchanging words and Majnoon got angry; when she came back home she apologized to Mimie.
"Sighed her story is so pathetic, now I don't blame her for acting this way; she went through a lot and that Adeel if I ever get to know him I will make sure I deal with him for making me pay for the mistake he committed and that she should keep deceiving herself that she is beautiful simply because she has an extremely fair skin" said Haisam.
Some men are heartless wallahi Ismail chirped in ,it's getting late I have to go, she bid them goodbye and left.
When Yusrah got to their room she saw that they all asleep except Majnoon who has her eyes glued to her phone watching "Elena of Avlor" series.
Majnoon I wonder which planet you came from, you are so addicted to cartoon movies that's why your eyes are like that of Queen Elsa in frozen 😁 Majnoon was already laughing her guts out.
"Yusrah honestly you are so funny " said Majnoon. " I really need to talk to you about Haisam,try and give him a chance to prove himself to you; Adeel is out there living his life to the fullest and having fun,Majnoon it's time to let go of the past " said Yusrah.
It's true and as for Haisam I fell for him the very first time I knew him but I just couldn't accept the fact that am in love again; maybe he will also live me too.
I have been trying to stop myself from falling more in love with him but it's seems not working, I just need some time to be sure if I want to be with him or not,now lets forget about Haisam.
By tomorrow you will be going for body and face spa so let's sleep and wake up early...........
