"So, you're getting married? How come you never told me," Chance asks.
"What? No, I'm not."
"But Brooklyn says you were. Who'd she set you up with this time? Last time it was Drew and the time before that was Jay, and the time before that was Devin." I feel my face heat up again.
"I don't know, she never told me," I lie, "and besides, Jay is like fourteen. He's a little too young for me," i laugh.
"Oh, well I guess she wanted it to be a surprise."
"Yeah, I guess."
There's a couple seconds of awkward silence, before Chance gasps, scaring the crap out of me.
"What? what happened?" He laughs at my reaction.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. I just remembered that I'm allowed to use the aux chord. I laugh. He puts on the song, Drag Me Down by One Direction, and starts singing. I can't help but laugh.
"Come on, Sam. I know how much you love One Direction. We sing this song all the time. Sing," he says quickly, before singing again. I shake my head no, but have a huge urge to start singing. I can't help it.
"Sam, if you don't, then I won't buy you food anymore." That's it, he broke me.
"ALL MY LIFE YOU STOOD BY ME, WHEN NO ONE ELSE WAS EVER BEHIND ME, ALL THESE LIGHTS, THEY CAN'T BLING ME WITH YOUR LOVE NOBODY CAN DRAG ME DOWN," we scream together. Chance bursts out into laughter.
"I knew I'd get you to give in," he says, smiling. I roll my eyes, and we continue singing, except for screaming during the chorus. We soon arrive at our next stop, and Chance starts squealing like a little girl. "OH MY GOSH, SAM, IT'S IHOP!"
I laugh. "Well duh, we need to eat, and I know how much you love it here." He hugs me, and Chance pushes me out of the way, to get to the doors first.
"Really, Chance," I laugh, seeing him smile. I walk to the doors and he opens it for me. "Aw, such a kind gentleman," I laugh. He does the same for the next set of doors, before we walk inside. After we sit down, we both look through the menu. "I think I'm going to have chocolate chip pancakes. What about you, Chance?"
"Pancakes? I thought you would go for waffles," he laughs.
"Ew, never. I mean, I like waffles but you have tiny syrup pools and it doesn't soak into the waffles the way it does pancakes," I point out. He just stares at me, before we both crack up laughing. The waiter comes, and we order, before laughing again.
