"I'm nineteen today! I told you on my nineteenth birthday I wanted to come here and watch the sunrise with you," he exclaims, smiling. I laugh.
"Yeah. That's what we are doing." Instead of saying anything else, he leans over and hugs me, before letting go just as the sun started to rise. We there in silence. Not awkward silence, but comfortable silence. That is, until Chance bursts out into singing Can I Have This Dance from High School Musical. He gets up, and lifts me up too, before forcing me to dance with him. All I could do was laugh. Man, do I love this guy. We leave, and after a few minutes of driving, we arrive at our next location, a trampoline park called Bounce. After an hour of jumping around, having fun, we left and went back to his house, to shower and change out of our sweaty clothes. As I walk out of the bathroom, with new clothes on, I accidentally bump into someone. "Hi, Sam," I hear a squeaky, little voice say.
"Hey, Brooklyn? How's my best friend doing?"
"Hey, what about me," I hear Chance yell, from the bathroom. I shake my head and laugh.
"I'm good. Want to play barbies with me," she asks, already dragging me into her room.
"Sure. But only until your dad is ready, then I have to go. Brooklyn smiles as we walk into her room.
Toys are scattered everywhere, you can barley walk. Chance and I worked so hard yesterday to clean and organize this room. That's okay, I knew it would be a mess anyways. We walk to the corner, where all her barbies are piled on the floor.
"You want to be this one," she asks, holding a blonde hair, blue eyes doll
"Sure. What's her name," I ask, taking the doll.
Brooklyn thinks for a moment. "Sam." I smile and laugh a little.
"And I'll be this one," she says, holding a Ken doll.
"What's his name?"
"This is... This is... Chance," she grins. This kid, I swear.
"Isn't that your dads name?"
"Duh. So these dolls are in love with each other, and are getting married, so we have to work fast to get their wedding ready," she whispers, before going to her play kitchen, and tossing plastic food all over the floor.
Brooklyn has always liked me, sometimes more than Chance. At least, that's what he tells me. He says that whenever I'm not with her, she won't stop talking about me. She's also quite the little matchmaker. She sees two people she really likes, and she tries to get them to date. It's actually quite cute, and funny. But the thing is, I have a huge crush on her dad, so it's awkward to play barbies with her like this. Anyways, she starts "cooking" the food that she threw on the floor. Before we can start playing, Chance walks in the room.
"Ready to go," he asks, smiling. Man, I love that smile.
"Yeah, sure," I say, standing up.
"But what about our game? You didn't get married yet," Brooklyn complains. I feel my face turn bright red.
"We can play later, okay?" She smiles and goes back to playing by herself.
We say goodbye to Shawnee, and then we get in the car and leave.
