"OW! SORRY, I MEANT TO SAY SAMANTHA," he screams, grabbing his arm.
"Uh huh," I laugh. I continue driving, before realizing that we are close to our final destination. "So, do you know how Harry is coming here for a concert next month," I ask.
Chances eyes light up, and he starts bouncing excitedly in his seat. "Yes!"
"How cool would it be if you could meet him?"
"OH MY GOSH, SAMANTHA, TELL ME YOU DIDN'T! DID YOU ACTUALLY GET MEET AND GREET TICKETS? I LOVE YOU SO MUCH RIGHT NOW! IF I MEET HIM I WOULD DROP DEAD BUT LIKE I WOULD DIE IN THE PRESENCE OF A KING," Chance screams. I almost feel sorry for what I'm about to say next.
"Sorry Chance. Tickets were all sold out. I couldn't even get general admission." The poor kid looks like he's about to bawl his eyes out.
"So why would you ask me that then?"
"I wanted to know for next year."
"A whole 365 days? Wow, thanks," he says, crossing his arms. Yes, I am well aware of ow mad i have just made him. I pull into a parking space, and tell Chance to get out of the car, which of course, he stays in his seat. Whenever he's mad at me, he won't listen to me. But i know that we will forgive me in literally five minutes, if he gets out of the car.
I groan, and run to the other side of the car, opening his door. "Chance, I need you to come inside, now. I don't care if you're mad at me, but please this is the last place, and then i will take you home." He slowly gets out of the car, and we walk inside. When we open the door, we enter into the dark room.
"Samantha, what are we doing here?" All of a sudden, the lights come on, and all of Chances friends and family come out, and yell "SURPRISE," causing Chance to scream. When he sees everyone, he laughs and thanks everyone for scaring him, before he runs to Brooklyn, and scoops her into a big hug. About ten minutes later, Chance still hasn't talked to me, and I keep catching him glaring at me. Geez, I guess I really did make him mad. I feel bad for the cruel joke, but it's too late now. My phone buzzes, and i look down at the new text message. Chance is definitely going to forgive me now. I laugh to myself, before standing on my chair.
"Excuse me, everyone, can I have your attention," I yell. Everyone stops talking and stares at me. Chances face turns red in embarrassment. "As you all know, today Chance turns nineteen. Since Chance is my best friend, in the entire world, I decided to do something amazing for today. Chance, as you may remember, I asked you a question in the car, on the way here. Although I feel extremely bad about how it turned out, I would like you to come over here for a minute." Chance groans, and walks over to me, crossing his arms. "Now, I need you to close your eyes," I say. He just stares at me. "Chance, quit being a big baby, and just close your eyes." He closes his eyes, but keeps his arms crossed.
I quickly text on my phone, as the door opens, and a man walks in.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to introduce to all of you, the one and only, Harry Styles," I say. Everyone starts clapping and cheering, but Chance keeps his eyes closed.
"I'm not falling for this, again," he huffs.
"Well, I thought you would have a different reaction," Harry says. Chance gasps, opens his eyes, and smiles the biggest smile I have probably ever seen, as Harry walks over to us.
"You must be Chance. I'm Harry Styles, but as Samantha here has told me, you already knew that," he says, extending his hand to shake Chances hand.
"What? How? You're actually here? What," Chance stutters. I laugh, getting off of the chair.
"Well, Samantha, the wonderful friend that she is, direct messaged me on Twitter your cover of my songs on YouTube, and told me how you are a huge supporter of mine, and I inspire you to write your own songs, along with a couple other things, and she explained how your birthday was coming up, and how you've always wanted to meet me, but never could because all my concert tickets sell out too quickly. We planned on meeting up and surprising you to give you tickets, but then we thought it would be even cooler to have a surprise party where I can hang out with you," he says. Harry gasps and grabs a water bottle. "Whew, that was a lot of words that I've just said." We all laugh. Harry reaches in his pocket, and pulls out two backstage passes for his upcoming concert.
"These, Chance, are for you and one lucky person to come see me backstage at my concert here next week," Harry says, handing Chance the tickets.
"Thank you so much, Chance says, before turning to me.
"Are you still mad at me," I ask. He smiles, and pulls me into a tight hug. I lay my head on his shoulder, and we stand there hugging for what seems to be forever. I think I could stay like this forever, I think to myself. As if Chance knows what I'm thinking, he pulls me into a tighter hug. Reality eventually sets in for both of us, and we quickly let go, both of our faces as red as tomatoes.
"She's a keeper," Harry says, smiling. Chance looks at me and smiles.
"Yeah, she sure is."
The rest of the party flies by really fast, and eventually comes to an end.
"It was great meeting you, Chance. I really hope you continue singing and making music. You have such an amazing gift. Samantha, it was also a pleasure meeting you. Thank you so much for reaching out to me. I had such a fun evening," Harry says, hugging the both of us. We say our goodbyes, and everyone starts leaving. Chance and I are the last people to leave, since we stayed to clean up.
"Samantha, can I talk to you real quick," Chance asks, grabbing my arm to stop me from walking out the door.
