I wake up to my alarm clock screaming. I groan and hit the snooze button. I am about to fall back asleep, when I remember what today is. Today is Chance's birthday. I quickly sit up and jump out of bed, suddenly having a lot of energy, even though it's only 5:00am. I have a full day planned out for Chance today, and I would like everything to happen that way... Even though that most likely won't happen. I run to my closet and quickly Chance into a light blue t-shirt and jean shorts, and put on my black converse, before grabbing my phone, keys, and backpack. I run downstairs, into the kitchen. Mom already knows what I have planned today, but I still write her a note saying I left, and I leave it on the kitchen table. Then, I run across the street to Chance's house.
Shawnee, Chance's Mom, also knows about my plan for the day, but I write her a note anyways, before running into Chance's room to wake him up. Because I don't want to wake everyone up at the house, especially Brooklyn, I decide to try quietly to wake him, by poking him. When that doesn't work, I start lightly hitting his cheeks, mostly because I don't want to actually hit him. He groans and his eyes flutter open. "W-what's going on? Sam? What are you doing here," he asks, in a sleepy voice. I do my best not to bliss at his sleepy voice. Yeah, I know what you're thinking, Samantha's got a crush. And you know what? You're absolutely right. But that's a secret.
I smile. "Get yo and get ready, sleepyhead. I have a busy day planned for us," I say, grabbing his arm to get him out of bed.
"No, five more minutes," he says, fighting to stay in bed, while still being pulled.
"Chance Perez, you better get your butt out of bed and get ready now," I say, trying not to laugh.
"You know, you annoy me sometimes," he says, pushing me out of his room, to get ready.
"That's why you love me, duh." I hear him chuckle behind the closed door, and I smile.
