I came up out of the water, watching for irregular activity. Water dripped from my bodysuit as I took my swim cap off. I took off my air tank.
"Had a good swim?" my cousin, Bethany threw me a towel with a smile. "Come on, we gotta get outta here." I hopped in her Benz and she sped away from the beach as the pirates got closer to the shoreline. Another mission completed.
I showered and found more clothes to wear. For a moment my memories of the last few days flashed in my mind.
"All you have to do is relinquish control to the Minnelli Family and all of this goes away." I bargained. The head boss laughed out. "Okay, I hate to do this." I pressed the red button in front of me under the desk and watched the room blow up, instantly killing the head boss. An alarm goes off just as I jump out of the window. I couldn't help but laugh at how gullible they were thinking I wasn't going to get my way.
An hour later, I hopped on the throwaway yacht. I checked on my messages. Bethany told me hours ago pirates were after me from an old mission. Shit, I thought. Preparing my bodysuit and air tanks, I set the bomb off on the yacht as soon as I was a few yards away. All this to get to Michigan...
"Okay, so...you're ready for your last year at Golden Oak?" Bethany brought me back to the present.
"Yeah I am...why you ask?" I eyed her for a moment.
"I'm just asking because you haven't even dated anyone..." Bethany smiled for a moment. "But you got time to do so." She handed me the confidential information as I got on the private plane.
"You the best Beth..." I hugged her, and she stepped back. I looked at my class schedule...no classes on Friday again. I was pleasantly surprised.
The long plane ride put me to sleep. I can't even lie, I was tired. Staring into death several times in thirty-six hours and I was no closer to finding Chris's hideout these days. That as irritating me as I speak but I couldn't let it get to me.
