*Still Zayn's P.O.V.*

They somehow managed to bring her back. By the morning after, she still hadn't woken up.

They said the reason she had coughed up blood was since she has cancer she bleeds very easily so I guess she began bleeding internally and then she coughed it up...

They gave her an operation emergancy to fix the bleeding. I couldn't keep it together during that. Liam had to take me outside.

"Zayn," He began, walking with me through the cool night air.

I didn't answer.

"I know you're upset but-"

"Upset? You think that I'm upset? I'm furious. I'm confused. I'm freaking out. I'm going insane. I'm terrified. I don't know what's going to happen. I am losing my mind at the thought I might lose the girl I love. I'm far past upset." I ranted.

"Come here," Liam pulled me into a hug.

"I'm falling apart." I whispered.

"I know, Zayn, I know. But, she will pull through. She's a fighter." He offered a small, reasurring smile.

We went back inside to discover that she was out of surgery and into recovery.

Now, it was the morning, and we were all sitting by her bedside, wating for her to wake up. Me, Louis, Liam, Niall, Harry, Danielle, Eleanor, Reese, her parents, her sisters, all of us, until an annoying nurse came in.

"I'm sorry, but since this is the ICU and she's unconcious, we can only have three visitors at a time. We don't want her to be overwhelmed when she wakes up. So, if some of you could step out..." She gestured to the door.

I didn't budge. Neither did Louis. Or Reese. I don't care if they have to drag me out of the room. I'm not leaving until she wakes.

"It's not even been twenty four hours and I miss her smile," Louis said blankly.

"I was just texting her when she was on her way back from Ellen," Reese replied without emotion.

"I was with her ten minutes before it happened." I win.

"Kendall, please come back," Louis whispered to his sister.

"We're talking about her like she's dead," I rolled my eyes.

"I don't care, I want my best friend back," Reese replied. She had a point.

Hours passed. Liam came in to collect them, figuring they needed food and bathrooms. He tried to get me to come with him to the cafeteria, but we both knew that wasn't happening.

Her parents came in, too, but they didn't stay long before her mom was blowing her nose and the nurse came in to remove them for she was a risk of infection. Heartless bitch.

Then came Danielle and Liam. Danielle looked as if she'd been crying. Liam held her as they sat. I wish I could hold Kendall so badly right now.

They stayed for about an hour. Niall and Harry came in next. Poor Niall, he was the one who found her. I'm glad he had found her when he did though. Things could be much worse than they were now.

Harry looked alright. He probably had Taylor for support. Did I mention they were getting closer now? As were Niall and Reese. *wink*.

They also only stayed for an hour when Elle came in with Louis again. She guided him over to the two empty chairs on the opposite side of the bed from me. He took one look at her and started shaking and crying. She had to remove him.

We were alone for about two minutes when I started singing to her. I always sang to her. I sang to her when I was bored, I sang to her when I was happy, I sang to her when she was sad. But, today, it was because I was going to go insane if I just sat here and watched her.

"It's been so enchanting to meet you," I began the chorus of Taylor Swift's 'Enchanting'.

I held her hand in mine, and her fingers closed around my hand. I smiled at the cute gesture, thinking of what small hands she has when I realized that she wasn't supposed to do that when she was unconscious.

I looked up to see her eye lids flutter open to reveal those baby blues, those baby blue orbs that I'd been waiting all day to see.

I pressed the call button for the nurse, then knelt down beside her to wait for her to fully wake up. "Kendall?"

"Hmmm?" She grunted.

"Kendall, it's Zayn, wake up," I whispered anxiously.

"Five more minutes?" She whispered, her eyes falling closed again.

"No, no, please wake up," I continued to plead.

She snapped her eyes open to look at me. "W-where am I?" She croaked.

"You're in the intensive care unit. Yesterday, after, um, I went back to my room, Niall went to look for you so you could get ready for dinner, and he found you," I held back a sob. "He found you unconscious and barely breathing and there was blood splattered all over your shirt and" I couldn't continue.

"That was my favorite shirt," She whined. The Kendall we knew and loved was back.

"Oh, you're awake!" Wendy sighed from the doorway. I guess she was on call today.

"Just a few moments ago, actually," I piped up.

"Well, we're going to take some of your stats and try to get some food in you. We're also going to keep you for a few nights for your incision to heal a bit and just to be sure you're alright then you'll be good to go, okay?" Wendy explained.

Kendall and I nodded.

She took her 'stats' which was her blood pressure, blood sugar, heart beat, breathing, stuff like that. When Wendy asked her what she'd like to eat, because you have to at least like the food to keep it down. Kendall said she wasn't hungry, but Wendy was persistent. She just ordered the soup so she didn't have to go through the tiring process of chewing.

It came up immediaty, in both senses. In the first, that her meal was delivered very quickly, in the second, it came up from her mouth immediately. Wendy held the tub for her to puke in and I rubbed her back.

She gargled with water to get the taste out of her mouth and began crying.

"Shhhh, it's okay," I said as I kissed the top of her head.

She hated being sick, especially in front of people.

Wendy disappeared down the hall and came back with a clean tub. She put it nearby and let us know it was there if we needed it, and that she would let everyone else know she was awake.

We were alone once again when Kendall said, "My chest hurts."

"Oh, um.... That... Well, you see..." I trailed off.

Kendall looked at me patiently.

"They had to shock you, with the paddles," I gulped. Keep it together, Zayn.

"What? Why?" She was obviously bewildered a the thought that she almost died.

"You died... Three times.... Once when you first got here a-and twice while you were in surgery," I choked out. Come on, don't cry.

"B-but, I'm alive," She said in disbelief.

"Yeah, you are," I replied numbly. "You're a living maricle."
