Chapter Twenty Two

*Kendall's P.O.V.*

Zayn, Erica, Brody, Louis, and I went to Dr. J's office to see what was next for me.

I sat down on the uncomfortable table-thing.

Erica and Brody sat down in the chairs, leaving Louis and Zayn to stand awkwardly by the door.

"Alright, Kendall, we're going to do some blood tests and then we'll let you know what's going to happen." Wendy offered a small smile as she said this.

Today, I felt great. Well, I felt nervous, and happy, and scared, and excited, and worried, and so, so many other emotions, that I was just overwhelmed. I didn't know if I wanted to hear the results of this blood test or not.

We waited an hour or so for the blood samples she'd taken to come back from the lab, then another half for her and Dr. J to talk, then they finally came in to the tiny, cramped exam room.

Dr. J exhaled. Wendy looked away. This was not good.

"Kendall," He began.

"Just say it," I urged.

"You are cancer free," His face broke into a huge grin.

I must've jumped five feet in the air before running to hug him.

"Thank you, thank you so much," I cried.

I moved on to hug Wendy. "Thank you, too, for being not only my nurse, but my friend."

I moved on to Erica, who looked as if she was about to cry. "I love you, Kendall."

"I love you, too." I smiled and cried and laughed as I pulled away.

Brody came over to me, picked me up, and hugged me as tightly as he could. When he put me down, I could see a single tear falling down his face. He quickly wiped it away, trying to be 'Mr. Tough Guy' but that wasn't happening.

I went over to my big brother, Louis, and smiled at him.

"Come here, Dolly," He said, pulling me into a hug.

"I love you, Lolly."

We pulled away, and laughed, and cried the happiest tears anyone could cry.

I turned to Zayn.

I jumped into his arms, and he gladly caught me.

"I love you so much," He whispered into my ear.

"I love you, too," I whispered back, before leaning back slightly, only to go in for a kiss.

"Break it up, you two." Brody laughed.

We did as we were told, but I didn't make any motion to get down.

It's over... It's really over. I beat cancer. I beat fucking cancer.

But, to all of those who are still fighting, stay strong. Don't give up. Never, ever give up.
