Chapter 9- You're Jealous

Lily's POV
By the time Emma was cleared to come back to school it was Thursday and I have to say I'm really routing for Sam and Emma to be together. They say they're going as friends but I think there's something there between them and I'm shipping it hardcore.

"So what's the deal with her and Sam?" Ben questions with a hint of jealously in his voice, I couldn't help but smirk as I watched him grow more uncomfortable by the second looking at them talking.

"They claim to be just friends, but you never know. They are living together after all, and you never know what goes on behind closed doors." I started wiggling my eyebrows, he just gagged. "Well I for one am happy for them, whatever it is they are." Mike said, slinging his arms over the both of us.

"Yeah of course you are." Ben rolled his eyes and stormed off. "What's his problem?" Mike questions with a tone of annoyance in his voice. "I think we've got a classic love triangle going on here. My bet is on Sam and Emma to be together by Christmas." He shakes his head.

"I don't know, I haven't seen Ben this jealous since Stacey cheated on him." I always forget that him and Stacey dated. It happened freshmen year into the beginning of sophomore year but then she cheated on him with Sam and then she cheated on Sam too and that is how him and Sam became friends.

"I forgot that was ever a thing. I still don't get what he saw in that she-beast." He shrugged and started laughing. "I don't get what anyone sees in her. Like yeah she's hot and all but she has an ugly heart."

"I think that's the deepest thing you've ever said." I put my hand over my heart and smile, he chuckles. "You wanna talk deep? Let's talk about how deep I went into-"

"AND you ruined it." I shook my head as I went to find Parker and Ben. "Hey guys, so is the plan still on for Saturday?"

"Definitely. This is going to be the best birthday ever for her. So should we do a theme?" I shake my head. "No way, she hates that stuff. Let's just keep it casual."

"Sounds good. But of course, we have to give her a shoutout at the dance. Especially if she's up for queen." Parker said excitedly, I shake my head and put on a nervous smile. "Yeah... about that... she said she doesn't want to be queen. Parker, you're on the dance committee, is there any way we can take her name off the ballots?"

"I'm afraid not. But I'm the one who counts the votes so if she wins I can choose the second winner." I nod and give him a hug. "Thank you, I know Emma will appreciate it very much."

"Why didn't she want to be queen?" Ben questions, I shrug and put on my lying smile which he knows too well. "She said something about hating being in the spotlight. It's apparently a fear of hers."

"Well I have to go, we're talking about food for the dance, see you guys tomorrow." Parker gave me a kiss on the cheek, did his handshake with Ben and walked away. "So tell me the truth."

"Psh! What are you talking about?" He rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. "You're a horrible liar Lily. Tell me the truth."

"Look I don't know okay. She said something about her ex and that he could see her on social and she didn't want that." It wasn't a complete lie so hopefully he won't be able to tell that I'm not telling him all of it. Oh who am I kidding? We're twins, he'll easily be able to tell!

"Alright. I respect that. I'm honestly excited to see how this party turns out for her."

"Well I can't wait to see your mystery date. But come on, I'm your twin why won't you tell me!" I pout, he sighs nervously. "Because I'm kind of worried about how you two are going to react."

"Why would we react weird? As long as you're happy, I'm happy, even though I can tell you're hopelessly in love with Emma." He rolls his eyes. "Yeah right. Emma is like my second sister, I just don't want to see her get hurt by a guy like him."

"A guy like him? You've known Sam forever, you know he puts on that tough exterior to hide the fact that he's soft and cuddly on the inside. You know that whatever happens, he'll be able to solve it. That's why you called him that night of the party to help you find her-"

"And I wish I hadn't because from then on they became best friends and now they're going to homecoming together and who knows maybe they'll be in a relationship and it'll be all my fault." As his jealousy increased, I couldn't help but smirk.  "And you say you're not jealous. Yeah okay. I'll see you at home, I'm hanging out with Emma after school."

Without another word I skipped over to Emma and Sam. I know he's jealous of Emma and Sam's relationship but there is nothing he can do about it. If he regrets telling Sam to look for her then that's his own fault because he called Sam for help in the first place.

"Sorry Sam but I'm stealing her tonight, we've got some girl business to do and it's going to take awhile. Also, should everyone get ready at my house tomorrow or yours?" I ask him, he shrugs. "We could get ready at mine, my house is bigger and I know how much you like to do your dramatic entrances for the dates. So the guys can get ready downstairs and the girls can get ready upstairs."

I do a dramatic bow. "Thanks boo. Alright Em, lets get going I've got a lot planned." I smirked really wide, grabbed her hand, and pulled her into my car. "So first thing is first, how are you feeling?"

"Much better. I'm not in as much pain as I was earlier in the week but it's still there. I'm not going to be able to do any crazy moves tomorrow night but I'll still manage to dance."

"That's great! Okay, number two. Do you have a dress yet?" She shrugs. "I don't have enough money yet, but I'm sure that if I can sneak into my room I can find something in my closet-"

"You will do no such thing. I'm taking you shopping right now, dresses on me." She shakes her head, automatically resisting. "I can't ask you to do that-"

"Emma, you're my best friend. I'm doing it." Before she could even protest, I stepped on the gas and started driving to the mall. I'm going to get her to open up a little about her ex, or at least I'm going to try. Whatever happened, it's clear that he's bad news, and I think Sam was right when he said her ex could've attacked her.

Either way I'm going to find out.
