Cheesy, Unrequited Love

The rain pounds harder
than my heart in my chest
His presence so great
My love for him will never rest

And though the skies are grey
And my brain is shot
he remains my sunshine
the only sunshine I've got.

Oh, how I long for him
unrequited, ill-advised.
It doesn't matter how he hurts me
Or how long my soul cries
My heart will wait.

Like the sun, he shone.
No, he shines brighter than any star.
Stupidly, I let him conquer my heart
Now my eyes are for him and him alone.
