Job 2.0

I was pulled out of my thoughts by the sound of my phone ringing.

The sound of it wasn't foreign anymore, after such a long time.
And it was a good thing, kinda-

I was socializing more, just like everyone told me to before. And much better, through my job.

I looked at the device with a slightly hesitation.
And it wasn't like i didn't like my job

-but it was tiring like hell.

And doing the same thing all day and all night can really leave you powerless. Until you get used to it, of course.

And it was hard sometimes to keep up with the needs of every client and hella boring.
They just couldn't pick a way to do it and that made Namjoon go crazy.

"Yes boss"

"You picked up right away. You must be in a good mood young man. That's just how i like you"

"I'm never in the mood. I just had nothing else to do and realised I need money"

"What a smart boy. I would've been way more satisfied with your work if you would've had picked up the first 10 times i called."

All of those mind games the boss was playing were making Namjoon sick. Nothing new but he felt exhausted.
His boss would always seems so calm, when in reality he was burning people alive inside of his mind.

"Look boss, I-"

"I want no damn excuses mister Kim. If you still want to have a job, then have the guts to come to work. This isn't elementary school. People's lives are in the game and we cannot afford any mistakes nor dumb excuses.
So beside having a job, if you still want that head of yours on your shoulders, come and do your fucking job."

After a long pause, Namjoon sighed. He knew he had to say something.

"Okay, i understand. I'm on my way"

"Make it quick, do you hear me?"

And then that long pause made it's way to the conversation again, but this time he knew he had to go there as fast as possible.

Of course Namjoon knew all of the risks of having a job like that, he just simply didn't care if his life was about to end 1 hour later, 1 day or 1 month.

He wanted this job just to fill up some of the emptiness he had inside.
The process was rather tiring, but he didn't mind as long as it made him forget about the past, at least for a couple of hours.
