‘Well we better get going to yours then Hannah, your parents will be home soon.’ Daniel reminded Hannah.
Daniel was right. It was getting towards 4pm. They hadn’t left the Brooks house yet and they planned to tell Hannahs parents when they got home. Daniel got Hannah up and they said their goodbyes. They left pretty quickly. They even decided to walk after Beau offered them a lift. Hannah was nervous about telling her parents. She was worried about what they would think. She was worried about what they would do. She had seen on TV before about teenagers getting pregnant and their parents kicking them out. Hannah didn’t want this. She loved her parents. She was embarrassed to have to tell her parents she was pregnant.
‘So how was your meeting at school?’ Hannah asked Daniel. She had completely forgot about his meeting with everything that had gone on until now.
‘Got the wrong day. It’s tomorrow.’ Daniel told her. He could tell Hannah was scared about telling her parents and decided to show her support. ‘You nervous about telling your parents then?’ He asked.
Hannah just nodded. She hated how vulnerable she felt at the moment. Anything would set her off crying. She hated it. Daniel could see all this. He took her had and reminded her how him and all the boys would always be there for her. He reminded her about how they would all jump in to battle her fights and how today proved how much they boys cared for her. Hannah hated the fact that they were fighting for her, she felt guilty but she was forever grateful.
Hannah let go of Daniels hand as she saw her parents car parked in the driveway. As she opened the door she realised her parents were out in the garden. She walked through with Daniel just behind. Daniel knew Hannahs parents from when they were always together but he hadn’t seen them in 2years and didn’t think they would remember him. Hannahs Dad was setting up for a BBQ whilst her Mum rested on a lounger with a magazine. They both turned around to see Hannah and Daniel.
‘Hey Hannah, oh and Daniel what a lovely surprise seeing you here’ Her Mum smiled at them both.
‘Hey’ Hannah and Daniel both said in unison.
They both took a seat near to Hannahs Mum. Hannahs Mum and Dad talked to Daniel. They were happy to see him. They missed the times he would be round with Hannah. They both secretly hoped they would end up dating. That went away when Jackson came into the picture. It wasn’t long until Hannah began to tear up as she remembered how her and Jackson had a water fight in the garden before.
‘Hannah, darling, what’s wrong?’ Her Mum rushed over by to comfort her daughter.
‘Jackson broke up with me.’ Hannah hugged her Mum.
‘Aww sweetie. Why? I never liked him anyway.’ She tried comforting her daughter. This was true though. Hannahs parents both hated Jackson. They always felt like he was trying to control their daughter.
‘Err, well he got me umm, he got me pregnant and I told him and he broke up with me.’ She burst into tears.
‘He isn’t worth it hunny. Don’t worry we will be here every step of the way, darling.’ Her Mum took her inside to get a drink and tissues.
Hannahs Dad went over to Daniel. ‘Thankyou, Daniel. For looking after Hannah.’
Her Dad didn’t know everything that had happened but he did know Jackson had stopped Hannah from being in contact with Daniel yet he was by Hannahs side right now. That is all that mattered. They both went into the kitchen to see Hannah and her Mum talking. They were booking a scan. Hannah pleaded for Daniel to go with her. Her parents were happy with him to go with her.
‘Want to stay for dinner Daniel? It’s been awhile.’ Hannahs Dad asked him.
‘Yeah sure.’ Daniel smiled as he sat with Hannah on the trampoline messing around.
Daniel left soon after dinner. He had to go home. He ran straight home to find out his parents watching some old film on TV. He went straight to his room. His parents didn’t talk to him. None of them wanted an argument before his meeting at school. Daniel had a quick shower before he went to bed. Honestly, he was scared for what would happen at the meeting. He knew he would be on his own. His parents wouldn’t stick up for him, well he didn’t think they would.
