Chapter 45

Peeta's POV

/-AN: I just realised there are 5 or 6 chapters left!!-\

"Peeta!" Effie exclaims as she stands at the front door.
She has dulled down heaps, just a wig and her accent comes from the Capitol.

"Hello Effie." I greet her and are pulled into a hug. Effie kisses my cheek and let's go of me.

She looks up at Katniss and gasps. I turn around and see her. Smiling with a hand on her still widening belly. I give her a big smile.
"Look at you!" Effie exclaims again and walks over to my wife. Katniss and Effie exchange greetings and Effie gives a big hug, the best she can do.

I close the door and walk to Katniss. Once she leaves Effie's embrace I place a hand on her back.
I gesture them to the living room where we head and sit down. Katniss and I side by side and Effie opposite us.

"Now. Tell me all about your child!" Effie slightly demands, I was expecting this.

"Well she is 29 weeks old." Katniss starts and Effie gasps.

"It's a girl?" Effie asks and we both nod with smiles.

"Congratulations you two." Effie congratulates and we nod in thanks.

"So that means she due in approximately 9 weeks." I add and Katniss gasps.
I turn to look at her wide eyed.
"Kat?" I ask worried.

"I felt a twitch." This makes me scared and I sit on the floor in front of her.

She takes my hand and places it on her belly and I feel it right away. A twitch.
I try to focus as I have read about what this is before.

"Kat." I start and look into her eyes.

"Yeah?" She asks and I smile.

"She's hiccuping." I answer and Katniss covers her open smile.

"Really!?" She says and I nod. Effie sighs in awe and I turn to face her.

"Come feel." I suggest and Effie slowly comes to us.

She sits where I was beside Katniss and slowly places her hand near mind.
Katniss holds Effie's other hand and they exchange smiles. That's when she starts kicking.

"Oh my gosh." Effie exclaims along with a gasp. I look to Katniss and she mouths a now to me. I nod at her then turn to Effie.

"Effie?" I start and Effie looks at my, tears forming in her eyes.

"Would you like to be her godmother?" Effie enthusiastically nods straight away and she brings us into one big embrace.

"I'm so proud. Of my victors." Effie states.

"We love you Effie." Katniss and I comment before breaking the hug.
I stroke Katniss' belly with my left hand.

"Hey cutie pie." I say, staring to talk to my child. "It's daddy here. Mummy, Aunty Effie and I can't wait to meet you. Come soon but not too soon." I kiss Katniss stomach and then her lips. We share a passionate kiss before Effie sighs in awe.

"That was so cute!" she comments and I smile. Katniss' hand finds its way into my hair and she strokes it.

I look up at her. "You're going to be an amazing father." She comments.

I smile before replying. "You're going to be an amazing mother."
