Chapter 3, The Beginning Of The Nightmare

*Kayla's POV*

Destinee, Mhali and I froze. "This person is coming to get us?" Destinee said. We didn't need to think twice, we ran inside Mhali's house. We ran around the whole house and locked everything! The back door, the front door and all windows. We ran into Mhali's room. "Should we call the police?" Mhali asked. "I think we should" Destinee said. "I'll call them" I said. I pulled out my phone and dialled 911. I walked over to window. Destinee and Mhali sat on the bed. While looking out the window, I saw an old car across the street and someone sitting in the drivers seat. I couldn't see who it was since the person is far away. This freaked me out a little bit.

"911 what is your emergency?" The policeman answered. I snapped out of it and stopped looking out the window. "Hi, I would like to report that I have been receiving horrifying text messages from an anonymous" I said. "When did these messages start coming?" Policeman asked. "This morning and the last message I got was about 10 minutes again" I answered. I could see Destinee and Mhali are a running out of patients. "Did this person make any threats towards you?" Policeman asked. "The person said that he is coming after me and my two friends" I answered. I could hear the policeman sigh over the phone. "I'm sorry young lady, there is nothing we can do about it" policeman answered.

I was shocked and scared. My jaw dropped. "What did he say?" Destinee whispered. "What do you mean there is nothing you can do about it?!" I said, almost shouting. Mhali stood up and shouted "what?!". She came over and pressed her ear towards the phone so that she can listen. "I'm sorry but there is nothing we can do, if this person makes a threat towards you and your friends, record them all and then send them down to the police station" The policeman said. "Put them on loud speaker!" Mhali said getting annoyed. I put them on loudspeaker. "I'm sorry but the person said that he or she is coming after us, is that not a threat?!" Mhali growled. "There is nothing we can do about it, deal with it" policeman said. Well that was rude!. "I thought you and your other fellow officers are suppose to protect the people in the town and so far, your sitting on your fat ass and doing nothing! Good day to you sir!" Mhali shouted and then hung up. Destinee and I were surprised and looked at her.

Mhali took a deep breath. "This is ridiculous!" Destinee cried and stood up. "The police won't help us" Mhali said. We all sat down. "I can't believe that the police won't help us" I said running my fingers through my hair. "So what do we do now?" Mhali asked. None of us said anything until Destinee spoke up. "We can go against him" Destinee said. Mhali and I looked at her like she was crazy. "No way Destinee" Mhali said nodding her head. "We have to find out who it is!" Destinee cried. "What if he has a gun, or a knife, or any other weapon? What if he kidnaps one of us or all of us?" I asked. Destinee and Mhali had the look of fear on their faces. I won't let anyone hurt my two best friends, or any of my family.

"So now what do we do?" Destinee asked. "We have to keep our guards up, don't let your guard down, any time or anywhere" I said. Mhali and Destinee nodded yes in a agreement. I sighed. "Since we have nothing else to do, why don't we look up some houses that are for sale?" Mhali suggested. "Good idea" I said. We all stood up and went down into the kitchen. I was on the laptop looking up houses for sale with Mhali as Destinee was looking on her laptop too. For the past two hours, we couldn't find any houses that are close by. I wasn't going to give up. "What about this one?" Destinee asked. I looked at the picture of the house. The house was way too big, like a mansion and the price was huge!. "No, it's too much" I said. Mhali suddenly yelled "bingo!". Destinee and I looked at her. "Look at this house, it has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living room, kitchen, everything that a house has, it's near your dad's house and it's at a good price" Mhali said reading out the information about the house. I looked at the picture and information of the house.

This house is perfect! It's near my dad's house and near work. "This is perfect! This is the house I'm looking for!" I cheered. "It looks worn out but we can help you fix it up" Destinee said. I was getting way to excited. "I can't wait to tell my mom and Ian!" I cheered like a four year old. Mhali and Destinee laughed. We heard knocking in the front door. We all stopped moving. We heard knocking again. I grabbed the knife that I was on the counter. "Stay here" I mouthed to them. Mhali and Destinee nodded. I walked slowly out of the kitchen and towards the front door. Destinee and Mhali were looking from around the corner. I got to the door. I grabbed the door knob. I took a deep breath and opened the door. I held the knife up.

It was Megan and Frankie at the door. "Megan, Frankie?" I said. They came in and closed the door. "Kayla, mom and Ian are worried because you didn't come home" Frankie said. "That's because there is this creepy stalker coming after Destinee, Mhali and I" I said. Megan and Frankie's eyes widen. "What?" Megan asked. Destinee and Mhali came over to us. "Kayla got creepy test messages from this anonymous saying he or she is coming for us" Mhali said. Frankie and Megan looked as frightened as Destinee, Mhali and I were. "Did you call the police?" Frankie asked. "They said they can't do anything about it" Destinee said. "What kind of police do we have?!" Megan asked annoyed and then ran her fingers through her hair. Knowing that there is a person after us is scary but We don't know why he or she is after us. I remembered something.

"Wait a minute, did you girls see a car parked across the street with a person sitting in the car?" I asked. Frankie said "yeah, why?". I rushed over to the window. The old car was still there but the person wasn't. "We have to get home" I said. Megan said "good idea". We walked out of the house. "Bye girls, see you later!" Destinee called out to us. We waved to Mhali and Destinee and ran to my car. We all got in. Frankie was in the back and Megan was in the passenger seat. I drove away from Mhali's house. I'm not going to lie, but I'm scared. It's pitch dark and driving home. I wanted to do something that will keep my mind off everything, even Megan and Frankie's minds.

"Oh by the way, I found a house to move into" I said with a smile on my face. Megan and Frankie's faces lite up like a Christmas tree. "Really?" Megan asked. "Where?" Frankie asked. "The house is not far away from dads, maybe about 20 minutes away" I said. "Kayla this is amazing!" Megan said. I smiled. "Thanks girls and you girls can stay over whenever you guys want" I said. We finally got home. We got out of the car and I locked it. We walked towards the front door. I opened the door and we walked into the house. We were guessing that everyone was upstairs asleep because it's late and it's dark.

"I'm really tired, I'm going to sleep" Frankie said. "Alright hun" I said. I gave her a hug. Frankie smiled and walked upstairs. "I'm tired too, I'm going to bed myself" Megan said. "Me too, I'll tell Mom and Ian about the new house in the morning" I said. Megan smiled at me. My phone beeped again. I looked at my phone and saw it was a message from Unknown again. Megan looked at me and knew something was up. "Kayla, are you alright?" Megan asked. Lauren came downstairs. "Is everything ok down here?" Lauren asked. I looked at them. "I got a message from unknown again" I said. Megan eyes widen in horror. She rushed to my side. "What's going on?" Lauren asked. "Kayla kept creepy text messages all day from this anonymous and he or she said that they are coming after Kayla, Destinee and Mhali" Megan said. "What?" She said coming over to us. "Let's see what this person said this time" I said. Megan and Lauren nodded. I opened the text message.
