After we got Dana's friend to forget all about what had happened and we had all gotten cleaned up, Josie, Lizzie and I were dragged into Josie and Lizzie's bedroom.
"I told you to wait." Alaric reprimands us. He looks pointedly at me and crosses his arms. "And you - you were supposed to be watching Landon! What if he got away, huh?"
"So, what? One less human to worry about, am I right?" I ask, elbowing Josie. She looks at me and back at her dad, knowing she couldn't take sides.
"But-" Lizzie starts to say before she's cut off by Alaric.
"No buts Lizzie." Alaric snaps. "Being a hero is not as important as being safe."
"I'm not a hero, dad." Lizzie mumbles softly. I frown and give her a warm squeeze on her shoulder. She gives me a side glance in return. "The only reason I was trying to be is because of how you've been treating Hope."
"Hope is not the goal." Alaric says. "Hope is a cautionary tale. And the reasons I trust her are reasons I wouldn't want you to to have to deal with."
"What about Lili?" Josie asks softly. I look over at her with sadness. She just looks down.
"Lili-" Alaric begins to explain himself, but not before I can interrupt him.
"I think it's better if I go. It's clear that this is something I shouldn't be a part of." I say while getting up. Josie stops me by holding my arm.
"Wait. I-I need to talk to you, Lil." She mumbles, holding her gaze. Alaric nods to her, letting her leave.
Josie and I walk out of the room and down the hallway, stopping to sit at a bay window. "Josie-"
"About today," She bites her lip softly.
"Josie, I'm so sorry. I just knew that if I kissed you it'd help you with your siphoning to get you and Raf out of the web and that it would be worse if I just stood there and watched you guys get eaten alive by that monster and then I'd-"
I'm cut off by Josie's lips against mine, pulling me off guard. I pull away quickly, confused. Josie looks concerned for a moment, not knowing if she had made the right move. I look down at her lips before leaning back into the kiss, holding her face in my hands. She wraps her arms around my waist and her fingers trace the bottom of my shirt. We both pull away and gasp for some air. She gets up and smiles softly. "Goodnight, Liliana."
I bite my lip softly and smile. "Goodnight, Josie." She walks away as I smile to myself. Maybe this is me figuring myself out. And maybe it's me finding love for the very first time.

The next morning the whole school gathers to the common area. "I am forming an honor council." Alaric announces, causing whispering to erupt.
Josie and Lizzie fist bump and smile at each other while I just sigh and slouch against my chair. I could be sleeping right now, but Alaric said if missed any other gatherings "there'd be consequences I wouldn't like".
"One vampire, one witch, and one werewolf each elected by their peers." Alaric says, cussing me to roll my eyes. "I expect you all to vote wisely. You are dismissed."
"Hey." Hope grabs my arm softly. "Didn't see you last night. Where were you?"
I lick my lips and drag Hope outside into the gardens to sit. She looks at me confused. "I kissed Josie."
"Yeah, I know, to get her and Rafael out of the spiderweb. That was a good idea." She says while frowning.
I sigh. "Hope. Later, after we got back. Josie kissed me and I kissed back." I look at her nervously to see her reaction.
