"All right, witches! Time to practice for the dance routine! Get in your places!" Lizzie shouts out, clasping her hands together in excitement.
My shoulders sink as thoughts race through my head. The full moon is right around the corner. That will be my first transition. Penelope watches me from her spot on the stage, frowning.
To make things worse, Hope is acting really weird, and ever since Josie has been around her, Josie has been acting strange as well. There's this weird vibe of positivity in this school and it's making me suspicious.
"And a five, six, seven, eight." Lizzie counts, looking at each witch critically. She stops the music and frowns. "Looks like we haven't been practicing."
Penelope struts down the stage and walks towards me, giving me a supportive smile. "Hey, Lils." She sits next to me, squeezing my knee. "Enjoying our failed and ancient routine?"
My face lifts up and I shake my head, smiling softly. "Lizzie really needs to get a new idea." I mumble. "But I admit, I love the view."
Penelope smirks at me. "That's obvious." She kisses me softly, tucking my hair behind my ear.
"Hey, P..." I mumble. "I can't sit here any longer. I'm gonna go see what Hope is up to, alright?"
Penelope catches my hand as I stand up from my chair. "I'm coming with you." She states, not letting go.
I sigh, looking down at her. "Penelope, you can't keep me by your side at all times. I'm a big girl, I got this."
"I already told you, I'm not letting you out of my sight." She replies, crossing her arms over her chest, raising an eyebrow.
"Well, too bad. You've got a dance routine to practice." I smirk, giving her a mirrored look.
"Penelope! It's important that we stay on task!" Lizzie yells.
I nod at Penelope, giving her a victorious look. Penelope glares at Lizzie. "Oh shut it you narcissistic blonde-"
"Have fun, P!" I smile at her and turn to leave.
"You're gonna regret it!" She says slyly.
"Hm, I think I'm going to enjoy it." I reply, definitely not referring to leaving anymore. "See ya later!"
She rolls her eyes and smirks at me, turning back to Lizzie and the other witches. I smirk in return, walking to the hall on a mission to find Hope.
Hope walks out of one of the classrooms, smiling happily to herself. "Lili! Hey! Are you doing anything for the talent show?"
I raise an eyebrow. "Hm? You're talking to the wrong Lili, dearest."
She smiles brightly. "I've gotta find Landon, we gotta find something we're good at together!"
"For the talent show?" I ask, scrunching up my nose in disgust. "Hope what the hell is wrong with you?"
"You're so funny." She pokes my nose and giggles, walking past me. I stand, flabbergasted, watching her walk away.
"So much for that-" My voice wavers as Rafael walks out of the same classroom Hope walked out of. He looks away as we make eye contact.
Anger gets the best of me as my blood boils. He turns his back, but I start marching after him, my heart thumping hard in my chest.
"Scared?" I ask, gritting my teeth. I use my mind to stop him.
He groans, clenching his jaw. "Let me go. You don't want to make me angry."
