Chapter 9: Going Public

Jasmines POV:

A few weeks had passed since Edward had told me he was a vampire. Everything was so much easier now. No more secrets.

Today was the day we were going public with our relationship. Gosh I can see the looks on people's faces now. Look out bitches he's mine now!!!

I was sitting in Edward's Volvo as we drove to school. "Is something wrong?" He asked me. I shook my head.

"Jasmine I can tell when your lying." He said sternly. I rolled my eyes. "Im just a little nervous is all. I know whenever we get to school people will be staring." I grumbled.

"What are you embarrassed to be seen with me?" He teased poking my side which made me jump. "No of course not." I said assuring him that I wasn't.

Soon enough we pulled up at the school. I took a deep breath. "It's go time." I said.

All the heads turned when we walked out in the parking lot. Mutters and whispers were heard from almost everyone.

My little entourage was waiting for me in our usual spot. "I'll see you later ok?" Edward asked as he kissed my cheek gently. "Ok." I said smiling.

When he walked off I noticed the looks my friends were giving me. "What?" I asked innocently.

"Sooo you and Edward huh?" Sam teased nudging my elbow playfully. I rolled my eyes. "Come on before we're late." I smiled as we walked in the front door of our school.

Surprisingly the day went by faster than it normally does. Edward and I were taking a walk in the woods. He was explaining to me how his powers and the powers of some of his family members worked.

I was hooked onto every word. "So Alice can see the future?" I asked him. I thought this was pretty cool myself. I mean she was a boneified medium for crying out loud.

"Yes she is. But her visions can change if a person changes their mind." Edward explained to me. Still cool.

I nodded. He had also told me that he and his family were diffrent from others. They only drank animals instead of human. Which for me is awesome.

Cuz it would suck if my vampire boy friend drained me of my blood. A little dark humor there. Anywho after school I met Edward at his car.

I rather enjoyed riding in this tin can lunch box. Not that I didn't love my truck I just liked the change of pace. It's something different.

As we pulled up to my house Edward says something very much out of the blue. "I'm gonna take you to meet my family tomorrow.' He said.

My eyes widned as he said that. I wasn't expecting that. Not at all. I did want to meet his family but to say the least I was anxious.

"I don't know Edward what if they don't like me?" I asked shakily. I was very sensitive in these situations. I wanted people to like me.

"Darling I'm sure they are going to love you." He said smiling at me. This made me feel a little better.

"You always know how to make me feel better." I say smiling at him. He chuckles at me. "Just doing my job dear.' He said pressing a gentle kiss to my lips. 

I smiled into the kiss. Each one I shared with him was like magic. I felt sparks run through me. He was my everything. I was very eager to have a life with him. I however don't think I was ready for the journey ahead.

Abby's POV:

I was trying to help Jacob with our book report. Trying being the key word. He had found out about Jasmine and Edward and he was livid.

"I mean I'm just saying I don't think Cullen is right for her." He grumbled as he bared down on his pencil so hard he broke the lead.

I rolled my eyes. "And who do you think would be good for her huh?" I asked trying to be a smart aleck.

"Well.... Me." He said with confidence and pride. And just like that I felt my heart break a little more.

I knew that Jacob was my best friend. We had been through everything together. But I was falling hard for him. It shattered my heart to hear him talk about another girl.

I harbored no ill will against Jasmine though. After all it wasn't her fault she attacked guys like files to honey.

If only I knew her secret to catching guys. Maybe it was a perfume she wore or something. I didn't have a clue really.

The only thing I did know was that my head was starting to pound. "Hey Abby are you alright?" Jake asked me.

I nodded. "I'll be fine. Just a little headache." I said giving him a little smile to assure him.

"I know what'll help." He said handing me one of my favorite candy bars. "Awe Jakey thank you." I said hugging him.

He hugged back. "Anything for my girl." He said. I blushed slightly at this. His girl? That was a first.

I opened my candy and split it with him. Just like we used to do when we were little. He would always give me the bigger half of the candy.

Then I'd be all hyped up on sugar and run around all crazy. Those were when times were simple. But then again everything was simple when we were little.

"So I guess my chances with Jaz are long gone." Jake said looking down. I sighed.

"You gotta have faith Jake. Maybe one day it'll happen." I said almost choking on my words as I said them.

He gave me one of his famous smiles. He shows his teeth. "Thank you Abby." He said kissing my cheek.

"Anything for my boy."
