Chapter 10: Meeting the family.

Jasmine's POV:

Welp today is the big day. I'm meeting Edward's family today. I tried to dress presentable as possible.

Edward tried to calm me down on the drive there. "Ed I'm fine ok? I'm perfectly calm." I said taking a deep breath and then exhaled it.

"Just making sure you weren't gonna faint on me there darling." Edward teased me. I sent him a playful glare making him laugh.

When we pulled up my jaw fell. Their house was absolutely stunning. It was like a mansion in the woods almost.

I wondered what it looked like on the inside. I soon found out as we walked into the house. Everything was all nice and neat.

"Welcome to the Cullen house." Edward said. I giggled at him. A warm delicious smell hit my nose. "Oh what is that wonderful smell?" I asked.

Edward sighed. "I told them not to do this." Edward said walking upstairs. I followed closely behing him as the smell got stronger. I heard my stomach growl.

I hadn't eaten yet so I was quite hungry. I walked into the kitchen to see Dr. Cullen his wife and Edward's adopted siblings cooking.

"You must be Jasmine. Welcome to our home." A perky woman with creme colored hair said coming up to me.

"Thank you very much." I said with a smile. "Jasmine this is Esme. My mother for all intensive purposes." Edward said.

"It's wonderful to meet you Esme." I said shaking her hand firmly. "Likewise my dear." She said smiling so widely I could see her beautiful white teeth.

"I hope your hungry." Carlise said. "Starving actually." I said nodding. Edward chuckles and leds me to the table. He got me a glass of water.

"I appreciate you all doing this for me. I really don't want you to go out of your way just for me." I said.

I knew they didn't eat. And I didn't want them to make a mess on account of me. That's just how i was.

"It's sorta too late for that." The blonde one snapped hatefully. "Rose! Don't be rude." Esme scolded.

Geez that cralwed up her ass and died? I could already tell she was the ice queen. Just by her attitude but I was trying to keep an open mind.

As I was waiting on the food to get done I saw two more people come in. "Hi Jasmine!" The girl with the pixie haircut said.

I'm pretty sure she was Alice. Edward had told me a lot about her so I sorta developed a visual image of her.

"Yep that's me." I said grinning at her. She ran over and wrapped her skinny arms around me tightly.

Talk about your bear hug. I thought she was gonna snap me in half until Edward told her to put me down.

She introduced me to her mate Jasper. He was one of their newest vegetarians so it was still trying to adjust. So I guess that's why he always looks like he's in pain.

"I can tell we're gonna be such good friends." Alice said smiling widely at me. I smiled back at her and nodded.

I was happy that she wanted me to be her friend. I welcomed the thought as making friends never came easy to me.

I pratically devoured what was on my plate. I was starving and the pasta was fabulous. So your darn right I ate it all.

I was helping Esme do the dishes afterwords. "Dear you don't have to your a guest." She insisted.

I brushed her off. "Ah its nothing. Plus I want to. You have already done enough." I insisted.

She smiled widely. "Well I appreciate your help Jasmine. After all its not always I have to wash dishes." She joked.

I chuckled. "Yea I know. It still amazes me you know? That all of this is real. Vampires I mean." I said.

"I know it can be overwhelming. But I like to think that everything happens for a reason." She said as she put the dishes up.

For someone who didn't look a day over 30 she was very wise. Everything does happen for a reason. Sometime those reasons aren't always known.

But I like to think that me meeting Edward was a blessing. I got a great man who obviously cares deeply for me.

And what's even better his mom is an excellent cook! Hahaha but seriously though.

I felt arms wrap around my waist. "Well hello there.' I giggled as I looked at Edward. "Hello beautiful." He said as he pressed a kiss to my face.

I blushed making him smirk. "You want to watch a movie?" He asked me. I looked at him with a fake shocked expression.

"Well yea I wanna watch a movie.' I said smiling widely. "Alrighty then Cinderella finishing washing dishes and I'll have the movie ready." He said kissing my cheek again.

I giggled to myself. "I'll be there my prince charming "
